I got these guys over the holidays. I always admired pewter dragons since I was a teenager, just never had/took the opportunity to buy them. I was given the option on these two to have them mounted on agate. I love how they look, especially the Loch Ness dragon.
THIS guy is COOL. I didn’t realize he would be so big and heafty.
And finally, this.
The movie I loved as a teenager and inspired a dragon drawing phase that probably annoyed the hell out of my art teacher. I haven’t seen it in probably close to 20 years. Going to sit down with it tomorrow while everyone else is gone!Love baby kirins, safari poads, mini keepers, and anything BLUE, BLUE, and, oh yes, BLUE.
Here are the current poads living in my hutch. First, the Safari bunch.
And the hoppies. The rainbow taddie is a fantasy hoppy. I very much prefer the lighter eyes on these guys, but the black eyed one was a grab from the store, so he gets to stay because I love his color.
Thank you to those who I traded with/bought from!
Now I need at least one adult safari and one adult hoppy in patterns/colors I adore.Love baby kirins, safari poads, mini keepers, and anything BLUE, BLUE, and, oh yes, BLUE.
eBay tends to have overinflated prices. There is a great site, Model Horse $ales Pages. Those prices tend to reflect more the current value of pieces. Especially if it is something that came out recently, there tends to be several people who will turn around and resell them. Special pieces that were offered web only, or email only. I just snagged one of the ones that they put up on Christmas Day that was a gamblers choice of two colors (like a grab bag). Model was $95, and there were only 350 of each color. Current resell is about $150ish. Might come down, might not. If there is anything in particular you are looking for, PM me and I can give you a hand. You can check Breyers site for the regular runs and their prices, then head over to MH$P and you can probably get one from someone at least $10 cheaper.

I recently purchased this one and used it for my nephews cake! It did a fantastic job. http://www.atomicempire.com/item.aspx?item=172834&gclid=CL2zi9TLjsoCFQgGaQodfRAC5w
Hmmm. This is a possibility! Do you have any photos of the cake? I’m just trying to picture what part is raised and stuff.

There is a silicone pan with a bat emblem shape. I’ve never used a silicone pan, but many people seem to like them.
Thanks etruscan, I’ve seen this one, but I would have to put it on top of an oval cake, and I think it’ll just be too much cake for us!

For as long as I’ve collected, I never managed to get on BLAB. I’ve seen too much snipping and nasty behavior over some of the Yahoo groups over the years, so I avoided it.

I love seeing all these Hipps coming out! I love blue, this guy is gorgeous, what color eyes will it have?
Guess. Blue of course! I got some from Dreamingtree, just a slightly different blue than the ones I got with it.

If I have to, I’ll get an oval pan, frost it in smooth yellow, and then sorta stencil/freehand the bat symbol. It’s entirely possible and I’ll use that as my backup. It would just be less steps with the pan, which is why I decided to give you guys a shot. 🙂

Seriously! You and I seem to want to paint in the same type of colors! This one looks fabulous so far!

Here’s my fall swap. My swapee pretty much gave me free rein, but mentioned that she like paint jobs based on animals or natural patterns. I had this idea in my head for awhile, so I went with it. The pattern is loosely based on some different color morphs of leopard geckos. The eyes are by dreamingtree and he has a Siam colored jewel. I named him Firestorm, after one of my favorite super heroes from Saturday morning cartoons.

Here is my in progress hippocampus. Surprise! He’s blue! The detail on the base is just phenomenal. It is taking me way more time to do the work on that, but I’m loving how it’s turning out. Sorry for the creepy no eyes.
