Etruscan,I tried it and almost made it,not quite.
Bodinetoo has done his poem and needs to know where to post it and Feb.1? Any topic name in particular?

He should post it closer to the time the raffle will happen, so around the last half of the month of February and at least 5 days before the end of the month.

And we are going to do it just like previous forum members have asked Melody about the upcoming raffle, you can just make a topic called in Ask Melody > “February Raffle?” and supply your poem. Or if someone asks before you, you can use their topic thread and put the poem in there. Or if you have a crazy and fun way you’d like to deliver the poem instead, you can do that too! We encourage creativity at this school!

Okay, thanks. He will have to redo it a bit.He did one about Windstone, etc.not about what he wants in a raffle prize.

It’s in honor of the raffle, it doesn’t have to strictly be about the raffle, this month just turned into a lil raffle prize poetry battle =) He can do whatever strikes his fancy!

Coffee, the blacker the better and rarely with anything else in the cup to muddle the pure taste of heaven. I used to drink soy lattes from Peet’s but it seems the ratio of milk and coffee too random and I always ended up with something way too light and disappointing. If I want to make it decadent, I drink my own 24 hour cold brew with coconut creamer and something sweet to dunk in it. Amazing yum.

I could stop drinking sodas altogether if I could get my coffee caffeine to absorb faster into the blood stream. Am I crazy or has anyone else considered trying to carbonate coffee?

This is excellent, of our poems we all should be proud
Giggling, I reread our work and am completely wow’d

Good poets, please see your way to the Bardic College
Where together, we can perfect our poetry knowledge!

But one thing is missing, one thing I want to know…
Something that has inspired this month’s poetry show…
Want of this information births shouts and cries
So Melody, what will be this month’s raffle prize?

in reply to: Ye Olde Bardic College NOW ENROLLING #940382

It’s my pleasure to serve the college, Headmistress! I only hope we get a fresh bunch of bards to fill the forum halls with rowdy and joyous song!

If most collectors a dragon are wanting,
Then please, please, please a unicorn be offering.
I’ll watch as the dragon lovers stalk off in a huff,
And hope my lonelier entry is enough.

Poetics and finely-wrought phrases from the forum
It is truly dulce et decorum
Our jests and tussles are just fine and dandy
Celebrating the monthly raffle with verbal candy.
Bardic words take flight, zipping and a-zaggin’
But one truth remains: the victor, always, a dragon!

Dragons are vain, they want details
Like claws and wings and fancy scales.
Not happy with one, they demand two horns.
    Give us simplicity … unicorns!

In these debates and arguments, fallacies abound
I’ll tell it to you plainly how a victor is found!

A dragon can set your unicorns a fire
Dragons are huge, when they sit on poads, they expire!

    Griffins, pssshhh, that’s a dragon’s chicken dinner
Kirins are tiny, they won’t mess with a draconic winner

Pebbles are stones, they’re earth and they’re mud
Dragons can crunch them like a cow chewing its cud

Wizards are nothing special, and that’s a fact
Except that wizards make the very best dragon snacks!

So harken here, you’ll see it’s true
The prize can only be a dragon…and preferably, blue

Ack I broke the quotes, here are the previous parts:

    Winter is too damn cold
    January is a blustery baffle
What the forum wanted to know
Would there be a monthly raffle?

I refuse to get on that wagon
    Of asking for another dragon

We hadn’t meant to be braggin’
Everyone knows the best prize is a dragon!

Not that I want to be a naggin’
But unicorns would beat a dragon!

A dragon is best, the most wanted: a dragon
Behind him, all other prizes are laggin’!

In times of blizzard, who wants a lizard?
Winged or not, I can’t bear the thought!
If a reward be had, I’d rather a wizard!
    A divine feline juggernaut!

    Wizards and lizards?
    I’m sitting out!
    Off to the corner
    Is where I’ll go pout!

Dragons and wizards and pebbles galore.
All are lovely to those that adore.
But the very best Windstone with which to adorn
Is the elusive and coveted and rare unicorn.

Goodfolks and gentle spirits, I implore
Your jaunty rhymes and lines surely I don’t abhor
But a beauteous and radiant dragon
Is what gets most collectors’ tails a-waggin’ !

Oh my, how excellent, I think we should round-robin it? How many words that actually rhyme or practically rhyme with dragon could be out there?

So…raffles huh? I’ve never participated. Maybe I’ll try this one out….however its done?

First about a half to 2/3s of the month tediously passes, then we get super impatient, then we offer poetry to Melody, then she is so impressed with our lyrics, sonnets, and haiku that she selects a prize… and we fight to the death over it! Ok, maybe not that last part, but the raffle details have their own post here: http://windstoneeditions.com/forum/windstone-raffles

That new color shift paint it lovely, can it be used on a new batch of GB Young Unicorns?

And Fire Berry as a limited production in-store color… (clears throat to squeak with all her power on this one) SQUEAK!!!!!!111one

and because I’m being greedy, natural colored Tankuis?

Those things ^ and I’d be good all year 😉

in reply to: Strangest Windstone Ordering Stories? #940131

I commute on a train to work, and coming home a gb group hit, I think it was the gb mini keepers? Anyway, my network cuts in an out in certain places on the route, and the train has unreliable wifi, so I moved from car to car trying to find a reliable signal to order. Did manage it with my data, but mostly because the train had moved out of the boonies and into a city. But I had gone from car to car muttering to myself and holding my phone up and down and all over the place before I could order. People were looking at me like I was a wee bit crazy, but they just don’t understand the GB fever!

You can still read it. Just search the topic title on google just within this site then look at the cached results.
