Very blingy! She may be small, but she holds her own against her production brother and sisters =)

May 15, 2014 at 3:44 pm in reply to: PYO Kitty Griffin & Long Haired Flap Cats in store now! 5/8/14 #912696I THINK they’re the same size as the Foo pups? I think that’s where I got my extra pair from, was a foo pup, but i dont have any foo pups anymore, gave them all away as gifts so i can’t compare side by side
I was referring to the PYO Long Haired Flap Cat’s eye size at 7mm:

The Griffin Kitty PYO could very well have the Foo Pup’s eye size. I can’t measure one since I don’t own one. Sorry for any confusion!
May 14, 2014 at 11:34 pm in reply to: What is the trick to using createx iridescents with a badger airbrush???!! #912666My first airbrush was a Badger Crescendo and the first airbrush paints I used where Createx, so you would think I could offer some advice. But unfortunately, I find iridescent and metallic paints to be very finicky (as Nam stated, due to particle size), no matter the brand, and Createx themselves to be especially hard to work with. They were cheap and easily available, and that’s why I used them, but they aren’t necessarily “easy” to work with.
If I remember correctly, I’ve always found it necessary to dilute Createx paints with airbrush medium or extender, even if it says ready to use out of the bottle. If you dilute it, the mix needs to be shook well right before using, otherwise the paint and medium with separate, and your siphon tube will just be picking up the heaviest particles from the bottom.
When individuals would ask for my advice when they first started out airbrushing, I’d always recommend not using any metallic or iridescent paint, to learn and get good with regular paint first. Then “battle” the others later. Not fun advice to anyone who wants to work with the sparkly paint right away.
I want the arctic and bat-eared fox pebbles so bad that I will fly to Oregon and hold each one individually while you paint them. I totally can live with them having a pad if it means they will be produced in mass quantities.

Yours arrived fast, mine always take a couple weeks. If you have time could you measure the size on the eyes? I want to order a couple pairs elsewhere – and it would be nice to not have to wait until after my cat gets here.
I don’t know where my caliper is to get a precise measurement, but placing it up against a ruler, it looks to be 7mm. Maybe someone else can confirm the measurement before you place your order.

Okay, I did a search and found about 12 threads specifically discussing antiquing (and I read them all, no Friday night life). Anyways, here is Windstones process for antiquing:
https://windstoneeditions.com/forum/your-method-antiquingDuh, now I know why I remember Windstone’s process. I asked the question! Hopefully it is helpful in some way. I can also link to the other threads if you want some bedtime reading.
That sucks =(
I think Melody stated that they clear coat their production pieces before antiquing, so its definitely an option. It’ll require clear coating it again once the antiquing gel dries. I’m not sure if that will solve your problem, though.
As for why the paint originally wiped off, I’m not sure. Did the paint have ample time to dry before attempting to antique? I may be overly cautious, as I let the piece dry at least a couple days before antiquing. Maybe someone else can be more helpful.
ETA: I found this thread from 2007, which half way down talks about members paint rubbing off their PYOs when they antique. It was recommended to clear coat first:
