The Nudibranch color… I would nab them all if I could.

Ah, these are all so awesome. But my favorite is totally Scarletdrite’s little ferret!

Maybe I’ll participate the next time around. I quit drawing this year though… but ruined it last month with drawing Chat Noir. Almost made an entire year without drawing. My only concern is I tend to draw macabre type things… even without trying they just end up that way (or morose). Wouldn’t know how those would be received…

I believe I could be an assistant host if needed. Since I’ve never hosted a swap, I don’t know how well I’d do as solo orchestrator. My father has also been in the hospital for the past few weeks (his third time admitted in only 2 months) so I’ve been having to do absolutely everything for him/bills/pets/etc. I don’t want to be sucked into anything that may happen and have an issue. But it shouldn’t be an issue as an assistant. Just let me know.

Any ETA on PYO Oriental restock?

Hm , I just checked the casting racks, and I don’t see any! So either we haven’t been casting them, or they are packed and haven’t been put in the store. We have been short-handed in casting for a while now, so we’re having more trouble than usual keeping things in stock.

            So…. you’re hiring?? 😉

Hah my thought exactly! I’d move to Oregon tomorrow if I had a job secured. I hate where I live. Please hire me for casting lol (I’ve only cast bronze in the past, but the system should be the same right? :p)

I have/had a pembroke corgi. I mean, he was mine, I picked him out, named him and all that but he’s as annoying as he is cute, and so he’s my dad’s now. However we live in the same house so… yeah.
I found that I don’t like dogs (was a pet sitter). Except german shepherds. I love them, and my german shepherd was the most amazing dog ever. If every dog was like him, I’d love dogs. (as a note, I’m also a fan of well trained dogs. Unfortunately, that seems to be a rarity)
I’m a fan of salukis as well, as least in terms of looks. I’ve never met one in person. Heard they’re hard to keep though, as they just want to run. Which means jumped fences and encounters with cars.
I hope to one day have a leonberger.

@etruscan I’m always covered up. I dress no differently in the summer than in the winter. I have a severe phobia of the sun. I don’t understand how people can let it touch their skin without even a layer of sunscreen. Even with sunscreen I don’t want it touching me…
Cloudy days are better for me mentally, but I still dress the same and use copious amount of sunscreen. 80% of the suns rays still touch you thru clouds.

Do you have studies for those? I love reading… I’d say it’s my only hobby, and things involving food and such, and to a lesser degree, medical related, are always an interest to me for books and documentaries.

@Ela_Hara I always feel like a bother to anyone if I bring up issues, or try to talk to people. The irony of this is I’m one of the best listeners, so people rant to me about everything… but I just can’t do it back 🙁 I’m the person that holds it all in best they can. At least, until the breaking point. Then I just lose it, get weird looks/judged or what have you, then the cycle starts over again.

                  @etruscan
It isn’t. I’ve been tested for everything since I had a surgery a year ago and all my levels were within normal range.
I don’t want to get technical, but the sun is a horrible place to get vitamin D. There are better food sources of vitamin D, but really so many foods are fortified with it anyway. But I do have some vitamin D supplements, though I’m not a daily user, I do take them on occasion.
Again, my depression and anxiety spike during the warm months, and gets better during the winter. It should be the opposite if vitamin D was the issue.

@GardenNinja I don’t take all those listed on a daily basis. I have a few I take daily, but the rest are either at certain times or if I’m feeling like I need a boost etc But see, holy basil and ashwaganda actually DID help me… until the weather got warmer than 80 degrees, then everything went out the window.
I actually have taken St John’s Wort in the past. I don’t feel like it did anything honestly. It also increases skin damage, and the idea of getting a tan scares the heck out of me. Even if it’s 120 degrees out, I’m in a hoodie with the hood up, gloves, umbrella, and sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen.
I am, however, always open to “non-conventional” ideas. In America it’s all about the money.

                    @merrillannwhite
I’ve actually heard that yoga can make anxiety worse, since it allows your brain to drift, and you can go back to issues bothering you. I’m not against it, or exercise (indoor), and I constantly want to plug in the Wii for WiiFit… but then I’d have to go outside and buy batteries.
I’ve never been to a class of any sort in a group environment. No matter how “non threatening” it is, the idea that I can’t just quit when I’m done really puts me off… I don’t think leaving in the middle of a lesson would be a good thing.
I didn’t know that there were pharmacists that give info for free? What type of pharmacists are they talking about? Like the ones at a corner store or somewhere else?

For me, I notice I don’t like what most people like. So if I make a PYO to make myself happy while painting, he never sells. If I think “gotta appeal to the masses”, he sells. I’m stuck with a ton of PYOs I painted simply because I wanted to actually enjoy what I was painting and well, those just don’t sell for me (and I once offered some as “pay what you want” and they STILL didn’t sell!). I really like the latest PYO I painted, but no one has come forward asking to purchase him.
Like Rylorien, eye colors. I HATE blue eyes. I think this is because of Windstone themselves. 99% of what windstone makes production wise has blue eyes and I just hate that. I want variety. So if I’m going to buy a PYO, I actually do avoid blue eyed ones. And that’s why you never see me paint a pyo with blue eyes.
(my one exception is when I’m commissioning or asking during a swap for a piece painted like a favorite character. Then please, blue eyes are a must if that character has them)

The sculpt is another thing. I don’t particularly care for the hippocampus. Or the unicorn, wolf, phoenix or cat-gryphon +++etc. So while I’ll still purchase those pyos if the paint job just really hits me in the face, I just tend not to want them.

And to be honest, I don’t like bright pyos. Not something I’d ever buy. And yellow is the “worst” for my tastes. This doesn’t mean you didn’t paint something fantastic (because you did, he’s awesome), but in terms of myself, I don’t want a bright yellow statue around.

(and to agree with GardenNinja… I can’t understand how people can pay so much on these ebay pieces that look so downright awful to me! Very clearly my tastes don’t match)
And yes, free money is always an issue.

Yes, I know the feeling, and I really wasn’t expecting to win! If I don’t love the Riser I’ll check with you first. Happy Birthday.

                        Thanks! I’d appreciate that :>

I accidentally won the scratcher lol I can see about taking photos of him when he arrives?

LOL – I kinda, sorta accidentally won the Riser. In other words, he sold for a lot less than I was expecting! I’m interested to see how he compares to the photos.

Ah, you sniped the riser from me then. I was high bidder until the last couple minutes (I think? I last checked at 12 minutes left and I was still high bidder), but I was secretly hoping, and not hoping, that someone would outbid me hah. I’d have loved to have him, but I’d also love to not spend the money. Win win!

My scratcher is due to arrive tomorrow, so yes, it’ll be interesting to see how he looks in person. Also interesting he’s arriving early on my birthday…

Oh yeah, forgot the mention. In the event that a second label had to be printed for an order that was already shipped, the first one would go into oblivion in the system. So yes, two labels to the same person, both have different tracking numbers, but one of the tracking numbers doesn’t actually exist.

I don’t have any stories, but I do have some inside experiences that might explain how things can easily get messed up.
I use to work for the online shipping department, of all places, walmart. I was part of the original party at this particular building, so I knew the most and had to fix everyone’s mistakes even though I was neither a manager nor getting paid for it (I had to play backup manager as well).

Other workers would somehow put completely wrong labels on the boxes not for that customers. If we caught it in time, we could fix it… but guaranteed we didn’t always catch it (or the person that did it didn’t say anything for whatever reason). They’d then send the proper items in another box. Sometimes items were left out a box, and I had already unloaded the pallet onto the fedex truck so there was no hope in finding it… so we’d send out a second box with the missed items (and no telling if extras found their way into those boxes).
Orders constantly had missing items. Or extra items. If we had new people that didn’t pay attention, yes, orders got items they didn’t order or didn’t get items they ordered. Sometimes it wasn’t even the new people! There was, oh, 4? people that were extremely vigilant in everything they did… so it was only them on a regular basis that you’d hear “Uh. Where’s -this missing item-“/”This -item- isn’t even in the order! Why’s it here! What order is missing it?” but there were “not new” people that just didn’t pay attention to anything they did and made the same mistakes as the newbies.

Sometimes we’d prepackage several boxes at once. GENERALLY, it was only the above “oh 4” people doing it, but I’ve caught others trying to as well. Prepackaging the boxes was “dangerous” in the sense that we weren’t checking the items that went into the boxes, so missing/extras would go undetected. Now, those that did it (myself included), would actually remember what was prepackaged so it wasn’t much an issue (can’t tell you how many times I got the item list for the 5th prepacked box I was working on and saw an item that I know I didn’t pack on that list)… but those other people trying to emulate us? Who knows. Enter missing/extra items.

On the multiple box note, I’ve had up to 15 boxes going at once. Generally in this case it’s the same item, or near same item (I never want to see another ipad in my life. Packing 50 in an hour isn’t fun) so it’s not a huge deal. Unless it is the ipads and 15 of those 50 orders had a different color/type/memory than the others then yeah it could get messy quick.

The one label mishap I did have, and I caught it right away, was I put a label for a single order of earbuds on a giant box that had a kids toy in it LOL I was confused for a hot minute before I looked at the papers hahah. That’s what happens when you’re expected to do almost everything while maintaining packing speed and making sure the new people aren’t messing up even worse.

So if you ever get anything, or don’t get something, think of this hahah.
