yesyes, that is actually what i am trying for. Making these colors looks as if they could natural go on a dragon.
OK, so the painting is finnished, it has been sprayed, felt is on…. but it is not finnished yet. I want to put a real opal in it’s for head an in the curl of it’s tail. So I am waiting to for them to come in so i can see if they will fit.
My heart just about jumped when i saw those photos, the griffin is sooo stunning! I love this one better then the sun and moon griffin, it just really grabs me.
yesyes, I do plan to do a white Opal too.
the lighting went down so I was not able to take good photos for the rest of the night.

Took a little to get the photos, but here is what it looks like now(when you posted that question)
it looks dark, I am adding a very dark mix of black, deep violet, metalic purple and irridescent medium at the base of all the scales and any crevice where the paint is too thin.
the first layer is plain Mars Black acrylic paint. I use my thinning medium and thin the paint almost to a liquid with bit of solid paint still on the brush, then i paint all over the pyo whyle holding it upside down. If the paint i put in is too thick, i dip the brush in watter and wash over it to take off and spread the still wet paint.
real time updates too.lol. I am painting it right now ^.^
I just got it today!!! wOOOO! here is what has happend so far in the last 1 hour 30 min:
so white, so pretty!
filling in all the white spaces that are hard to reach.
Laying out the base colors…
starting to add some detail and metalics.
oooooo.she looks stunning so far!!!
hahahahah! I know what that is like. I am waiting for my next one to arrive today and it is driving me nuts. I had dreams of painting it last night even. I can’t wait to see the photos of yours ^.^
