I’m *trying* to cut down on the number of collections I have going… 😛
Current Collections…
– Windstones (of course!)
– Books… There are books everywhere… I’ve run out of shelves!
– Purplecat Creatives
– My Little Ponies… Started with the Original ones when I was a kid and have added some G3. Haven’t made up my mind whethter I like the New G4… Which is probably a good thing
– Plushies…. Foxes, Owls and Dragons being my favorite but there are tons of other random ones around. Really have to go through them all since I have WAY to many
– Transformers… Mostly books and DVDs at the moment but there are a few figures from my childhood (that will always be treasured because I had to FIGHT for them. Girls weren’t supposed to like transformers 😐 ) and a few of the new ones. Even some plushies 8)
– Fabric and Sewing supplies…. Not sure if this qualifies as a collection or a hoard but the amount of fabric I seem to own amazes me… and I don’t even remember buying it all… :O (I think fabric breeds… 😛 )I’ve been called a Hoarder by my Mum (who IS one, low level, and denies it). I always counter that I know where everything is, my space is clean (relatively 😛 ) and you don’t have to climb over or move stuff to get around and do things. Also, getting rid of basic things (paper, clothing, stuff I don’t need) doesn’t cause me anxiety, thus by my reckoning I’m not a Hoarder ;). Now granted a lot of my larger Windstones (and some other stuff) are in boxes in the closet or under the desk but I know which pieces I have and where they are. They just aren’t displayed because I currently have no room. I did at one time (had to downsize for various reasons) and as soon as I have space again, they will be out of their boxes and on display.
May 16, 2011 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Anyone going to the San Diego Comic Con?? – ALSO – Question for MLP collectors #845508Those are pretty standard prices for the ponies. Preorders like that always seem to be around $50.00. And like everything else, the older Art ponies have been going for less (just like everything else) lately 🙂
I think the trick with all these ‘Collector’ Editions is to hold onto them for 20 years to really make any money on reselling them 😛
Aww… cute little fuzzballs
Congrats on your chicken. I hope you continue to post pics as they grow 🙂My Aunt raised all kinds of fowl when she lived on her farm. Assorted chickens (evil roosters), pheasants, turkeys, geese (evil geese), ducks, doves, guinea fowl peacocks, etc. And it was mostly fun to visit, until you got chased by some goose or rooster. I think I had the most fun cuddling chicks.
I got the job!!!
The floor of the bathroom was flooded when I got out of the shower last night… The drain backed up. And it wasn’t the shower drain but the Main House Sewer line!
The plumber is here now and after getting very little sleep between mopping up all the water and moving everything, including a shelf full of windstones and a Cabinet because the main clean out is in my room under said cabinet, I am hoping things aren’t too bad…. :((Some sort of wood grain would be my guess
Wow, Thats an Ambitious. I wish you luck!
The links that siberika and drag0n provided are great.
For Skin… Vinyls and the like are not breathable and fairly stiff as well as they can be fairly uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. There are some lovely Faux Suede fabrics out there that do breathe and look great if they are airbrushed or painted. They are also a bit cheaper and have some stretch unlike most of the good vinyls I’ve seen out there. For the Head and Claws a good option is to use the Pink insulating Styrofoam (also comes in blue). It’s very lightweight, rigid, durable, relatively inexpensive and sands and carves beautifully with basic tools you probably already have (however is very messy and has a few quirks). You can either just coat and paint it or you can give it a skim of apoxie sculpt. I use this stuff all the time for Stage Props and stuff. I can’t say I’ve ever found a tutorial on the web fro working with the pink styro so if you (or anyone) are interested in more info about using it and it’s quirks or have any questions you can PM me 🙂
As for eyes… maybe Dreaming Tree could help you out? A feathered Dino would be fun but conceivably more work (those feathers…) and as for coloring, use your imagination! I’ve seen Raptors of all sorts in a variety of colors… even have a model of one that has tiger stripes 🙂
FYI (dino-geek speaking ;p )
Raptors are part of the Dromeosaur family. The Raptors used in the Jurassic Park movies and shown there are actually closer to being Deinonychus. They used the Velociraptor name because it sounded better. Real Velociraptors are only about the size of a large dog and have a longer narrower snout. That bit of info might help you out when looking for references 🙂No kidding!!! It’s been almost 5 years since the last one!
I’d guess some sort of stone.
I enjoyed the series and have been waiting forever for the fifth book (there will be seven in the series)
I don’t get the channel that is showing ‘Game of Thrones’, see the commercials for it though… so will have to wait for the DVD, or one of the other channels to start showing it.
After months of applying to jobs I got an interview on Monday!
Finally, after MONTHS massive stress and crap, things may be starting to look up.
Scenceable – I have shelves full of ponies like that too!!! I never had the big playsets though…
Hannah – Love the murals on the wall. I always wanted to paint Dream Valley on my walls but wasn’t allowed… Even posters were discouraged 😐
I would post pics but my room is crammed full of a full apartment of stuff since my roommates absolutely forbid me to put my stuff anywhere but my room. 😐
porcupine quills?
How do you post images here? Am internet impaired and haven’t been able to figure it out… :p
(I miss the IMG button from the old forum):O :O :O
I hope everyone in the area and with loved ones in the area stays safe! -
