after googling to find something that has fuzz and that color pattern the only thing even remotely close I could come up with is the Redbase Jezebel butterfly

Lights those fiber opitic lights ? Pardon my spelling . But I think you might know what I mean . Reminds me of Christmas trees with them .

I won’t be so cruel as to make someone guess the exact species!
Daydreamer got it… it’s a butterfly! Special points to Flamingdragon for research even if it is not quite the same species. 🙂

This is a poor Zebra Swallowtail I found at a rest stop in Georgia. It was floundering, and it was so hot out that I scooped it up and brought it with me to offer it a little sugar water in hopes that it’d perk back up. Sadly it was injured and didn’t survive, but I felt it deserved a better fate than being squished at a messy rest stop.

hmmm…thinking…
