I noticed! I made a comment in your other thread where you first posted pictures. 😉
She’s beautiful! I really like how you did the scales – how did you manage that?
Wow, Vantid, I am seriously jealous! I’m glad you had a good time but I understand wanting peace and quiet. I live a short distance from NYC and have only been 2 times in the last 5 years or so. A little city goes a long way….Did you get to see George Lucas drive by? I would love to meet him!
That sounds like so much fun! It must be great to actually be a part of it but I can’t believe they make the volunteers pay to work on the floats. Actually, they said on the color commentary that they were short about 100 volunteers this year – the people got held up because of the snow snorms.
Edit: I meant snow storms! I have no idea what a snorm is.
I really like this guy. I think the idea of a zebra ki-rin is great. And I like the way she did the mane and the tail. I hope someone buys him.
If you are looking for images try the HGTV website – I watch it on that chanel as they show it without commercial interruption. It is so frustrating when a really cool float comes along and they cut away to a commercial. I have to admit I taped the first part and fast forwarded through all the marching bands. The Star Wars floats were great! And one of the OK flights had a rocket man who really flew. I agree with Chessie – this year was the best!
Did anyone else watch the parade? There was a great float of 2 dragons engaged in a battle around a castle. At least one if not both of the dragons were supposed to shoot flames out of his mouth but it wasn’t working while it was in view of HGTV’s camera. Trader Joe also had a great float of underwater critters including an awesome sea turtle. Plus there were a lot of horses – 2 teams of Clydesdales pulling floats plus a bunch of mounted teams. A friend got me hooked on watching the parade several years ago – it’s just amazing what they can do with flowers. At least this year it wasn’t pouring rain.
What about doing the Secret Keeper as a “Buy Selected Things Direct”? With the understanding that the dragon would be painted after purchase and the buyer would have to wait 4-6 weeks to get the dragon? Most people who buy from artists would understand the waiting period – I once bought a piece from Hudson River Inlay that I had to wait a few months until a)it was done and b)I paid it off. (I am not suggesting a payment scheme for the SK – I realize keeping track of it would be a headache for Karen). Then you would only have to ship the piece once. The only problem would be if once they were available that way a lot of people all ordered at once but since forum members are the ones most likely to find out about them we would be patient about getting them! 😉
Happy New Year from a rainy but mild NJ!
I’m so sorry about your koi 🙁
Thursday I was shopping with some friends and found a store selling Windstones – happy dance. The owner sold me a black gold emperor and the young green oriental with a 15% discount. Serious happy dance!
Very cool! I saw them on ebay – I love the tag about if you don’t win the copperplate griffin! Very enterprising! 😆 Good luck.

I keep checking in case the emerald peacocks go up – guess they are going to wait until next year!
