This is more of an update from about 7 or 8 years ago – I am now 73 years old (74 in Oct.) and purchased my first Windstones in 1987, a brown male and female, after a friend of mine showed me a brown dragon he had received as a Christmas present. I didn’t really begin collecting until I retired in 1998 and then really went wild after finding the Forum. I now have 217 (mostly dragons) with 2 more on the way. My house has Windstones everywhere and now I can only get the smaller ones because of space problems. Among them I have 10 Emperors and 10 Old Warriors which take up a good amount of space but I love each and every one of them.
Bump for our new members. 🙂
HI GB it’s been a long time since I have heard that name.
As the oldest member of the Forum I would have to say an Old Warrior – a fire eating and breathing one
I live in southeastern FL and thought what we had it bad in 2004 and 2005 but the damage to your landscape looks worse than around the community I live in. FL gets bad weather but in the last few years it seem other parts of the country get hit with worse things. When we are going to get hit with a hurricane we always have 4 or 5 days warning to prepare but with tornados, mudslides and flooding there is not much time to prepare. What I wanted to tell you also is put large bags of ice (like the kind you buy at stores) and pack it in the freezer on each shelf and it will stay for quite a while. I had a freezer go out and couldn’t get a new one delivered until the next day and the old one was full of stuff and everything was OK.
My deepest sympathy it is very hard to lose a pet but at least you know you gave her a good home for most of her life
I keep telling myself I don’t have any place to put the Blue Morpho Old Warrior and keep telling my self to keep my fingers off the keyboard.
I have the Fledgling, Baby Fledgling, Coiled, Mother Coiled, Hatching 2 and curlie in the Blue Morpho and just took another look at them. I could really see a difference between the Fledgie and the Baby Fledgie after Melody pointed out where it was.
I love that color and have the fledgling, baby fledgling, curlie, coiled, coiled mother and hatching 2. I would love to have that Old Warrior but I started out with the brown family of 4 around 1987 and 217 Windstones later I am only buying the small ones because I am out of room to put a big one somewhere – anywhere! They have taken over my house.
CONGRATULATIONS that is one of my favorite colors and that one looks perfect
I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY I just got the one I have been waiting for the BROWN FLEDGLING BABY and he is on his way to me.
I had some great friends that really helped me and made sure I got out and did things with them instead of staying at home thinking.
What a doll
My wish list will probably never happen because 2 of them have never been made
Emperor Hatching Copper Patina (I think there were 2 or 3 made)
Emperor Hatching Amethyst (never made)
Emperor Hatching Gold Leaf (never madeI finally got a brown emperor a short time ago and I already had the peacock and old green emperors so that completed my set of original colors but I gave up on Photobucket to post pictures. It used to be so easy now it is just exasperating to use it otherwise I would post pictures of the brown.
Congratulations Windstone that is fabulous You deserve every one of them and more.
