I purchased the brown male and female in 1986 after seeing a friend’s set. I got the youth and hatching brown in 1989. I have mostly the emperors and fledglings which are my favorites along with all the curlies. I had 35 when I joined the Forum in April 2007 and now have 69 . Windstones are addictive.

I am the old lady of the forum I am 66 and will be 67 in 3 weeks. I got my first Windstones in 1986. A friend of mine had a brown male and female and he showed them to me and I fell in love with them and had to get them. My first was a brown male and female. About 3 years later I got the young and hatching brown. Joining the forum made me even more of a collector as I have gone from about 35 to 68 since April 2007 with no. 69 and 70 on the way from Windstones. This poll proves your never to young or to old for Windstones.

I can’t get this vote thing to work what am I doing wrong. It won’t let me click and vote?

You have my sympathy. I had all four impacted wisdom teeth and didn’t get any of them removed until one of them got infected. I made the oral surgeon temove all four at one time. He didn’t want to but I told him I was a chicken and if he didn’t get all of them at one there wasn’t going to be a second chance. My mother took me home and I put ice bags on my face for about 8 hours and then ate beef stew for dinner and went back to work the next day. The pain started when the stiches started pulling a few days later – I lost 10 lbs before everything got OK.

                    PM’d you

I am very sorry to hear your news. It is alway hard to part with something like Windstones.

In some states it is legal for you to trim any branches, etc. off your neighbors trees/bushes that hang over on your property. You might want to check on that

More good news – Again this morning I went to the hospital to see Tristen – He is much more alert today than he was yesterday and is now out of the critical 48 hour after surgery period. They fed him solid food last night for the first time and said he ate like a pig. I was a little worried about that as I cook hamburger and rice and mix it in with his dog food and he doesn’t like plain dog food. They feel he is out of danger and no longer in the critical care unit but will have to spend a few more days in the hospital. I am sure all your prayers and good wishes helped a great deal. Thanks.

The news is good – I just came from the hospital to check on Tristen – the vet thinks he will be OK and able to come home in about 3 days. He is still on the IV but they plan to give him some food this evening. I didn’t stay to long because he is still kind of out of it. The pneumonia was probably caused by the vomiting causing a backup into the lungs but he is responding to the drugs

Thanks for all your prayers. The vet just called and Tristen is out of surgery and is awake and alert but he is battling pneumonia and they removed a node from his liver for a biopsy. He will be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days and has a long battle ahead of him. I was surprised they operated him on Sunday afternoon but I guess I was better off not knowing till it was over. He is not out of the woods yet but this was encouraging news to me.

Some of you may think I am crazy but would you please pray for my dog Tristen (that’s him in the middle of my siggie). I had to rush him to the emergency hospital late last night. He threw up what looked like a large glob of marshmallow fluff. I called the emergency vet just as he was doing it again. I rushed him up there and they had to keep him to figure out what was wrong. He also vomited again in the car on the way and four times while waiting for the vet to look at him. He will be 12 years old Sept 21st so he is no spring chicken but he is my baby and I love him dearly. The vet called me this morning and asked if I was coming up to see him today. I said I would be there a little later. When I got there the vet told me he had an inverted stomach probably caused by the heavy vomiting and surgery was the only thing that would save him but it was very expensive. I told him to do it. He said he would have to called in a specialty surgeon that had done a number of these. He also said Tristen’s didn’t look as bad as a lot of them he had seen on x-rays. I am now waiting for the emergency clinic to call me as to when it will be done. Meanwhile he is in the critical care unit which is probably the best place for him at the moment. The vet thinks he has a very good chance but I am scared to death. Thanks for listening to me ramble I guess I just needed to talk about it.
