I said it with the momma, but THAT KIRIN IS SO PRETTY! I really think this is the best use of the magic sparkle paint.
I agree! I have had no interest in buying anything with sparkle paint (pebble critters included), but I would definitely want a set of kirins. Absolutely beautiful!
I agree, the sparkle paint on the Ki-Rins looks unbelievably realistic and beautiful. I know I said this before but it looks like fish scales and makes perfect sense on a scaled fantasy creature! I would love to see sparkle paint on a production Ki-Rin family. Absolutely love it.
They remind me so much of Grunion fish, which are amazing in and of themselves!
January 28, 2012 at 8:41 pm in reply to: The filling of the Grab Bag Baby Unicorn orders 1-26-12 #871562Keep in mind too, that saying one hates the Uni one received, or saying it’s ugly, doesn’t exactly ‘sell’ others on the idea of trading it!
What if a car salesman said to you “Oh yeah, it’s nice I guess, but it’s really ugly and not what I was looking for at all. Someone take it from me.” Even if you liked it to begin with, would it make you want that car more after the salesman said that? 😉
It’s totally ok to not like what you got, but being politely reserved with an opinion on it is both kinder to Melody and helps in trading, IMO. 🙂 For every collector on here that gets a Uni they weren’t hoping for, there’s very likely to be someone who likes EXACTLY that Uni!
I’m not talking about anyone specific with this post, BTW. Just a blanket statement, heh. 😉
January 28, 2012 at 7:53 am in reply to: The filling of the Grab Bag Baby Unicorn orders 1-26-12 #871479I don’t think anyone was referring to that, PT. 🙂 I think it referring more toward the last batch of Youngs. People were really excited for them, but when some didn’t get what they were hoping for, I remember some complaints that made me wince a little on Melody’s behalf.
I actually gave up. Thank goodness for email forwarding. At 4:55 I went to the break room where there’s a computer with net access and waited for the confirmation email to show up.
At 5:38 I walked back to my desk. At 5:39 as I was sitting down, the email notification came in to my work mail, where I set it up to forward from my gmail account.
RAN back to the break room! It took 10 minutes to complete the order but I made it. 🙂

January 27, 2012 at 1:26 am in reply to: Baby Unicorn – Grab Bag – ETA – UPDATED 1/25/12 2 PM PST #871141Guh, I’ve missed nearly an hour of work waiting for these. I wonder how the site overload issue can be circumvented in the future… I imagine Susie is just as frustrated as we all are right now!
January 27, 2012 at 1:10 am in reply to: Baby Unicorn – Grab Bag – ETA – UPDATED 1/25/12 2 PM PST #8711285:17…. not in the store yet but it’s so slow. I can only imagine what the server thinks of us all. 😉
Oh no! Not the Safe Place! In our house if someone(especially my dad) can’t find something particularly if it’s important we joke about the item being put in the Safe Place again. The problem with the Safe Place is that it’s almost always too safe.
Our joke with our mom when she put something in a safe place is to look in the fridge! XD It’s happened before, haha
I put my car keys in there once. O_o
The two Oriental Dragons I bought from Nytetyger landed on my doorstep on Monday, and they arrived safe and sound. 🙂 For packing, I went ahead and sent factory boxes pre-packaged for her since I wanted to be double sure about the Adult Oriental especially. They were packed up and sent back just fine. Anne was very nice to buy from; and when I emailed her to check in I received a reply within a day or two.
Thanks again Anne!
Kaytana, everything Jen said is right on the money IMO. 🙂
You really are a sweety for wanting your fish to be happy and healthy!
Since the other locked thread went a bit wayward of the original topic, I’ll post it here…
Just received the two pieces I bought from Nytetyger; they arrived safe and sound and were as described. 🙂
Ooh, it’s a lovely paint job. I hope hope hope he was super banged up, to justify repainting a Grand Peg… he’s seriously beautiful though.
Don’t get an undergravel filter!!! I recommend a side hanging one. They are much easier to clean and change out the filter pads. If you get a 10-gallon, I highly recommend this one:

I have three of those, that have been running between 2-5 years and have not had issues with them at all. Great filter. 🙂
Your goldfish and bottomfeeder could both use a larger tank. A 10-gallon would be a great start. Before those two can be transferred though, the new tank needs to be ‘cycled’. I’m sure several of us on here could go into detail on that for you. I can when I get back from work, I promise!!
Please keep in mind that you’re looking at an investment of about $25 for the filter and whatever the tank costs on top. I have 3 freshwater planted tanks, and it all started with a “free” goldfish. 😉
I would lean more toward the bald-faced one, than a really crazy art one. So there are those of us out there that would totally prefer the ‘plainer’ ones, fear not for your trades. 😉 Although even the ‘plain’ ones in this batch are out of this world!
