Those look great!! You have done a wonderful job! I am jewelry maker when I have free time & shows to sell at. I usually take the winter off. I’ve been dying to try the square wire! Your prices are great too!

Cool, I agree, that dark gold has to go. I think I’ll really like it then. I’ll use it to antique, that’ll look great! Thanks for the suggestions guys! I’ll work on it tonight and post more pics when I’m happy with it.

*blush* thanks you guys! I really like the browns and I have to say I love to work with pastels. The scales are folk art metalic paints and the fur/mane/tail are pastels.

I painted over some of the dark gold with the white and it just looked cloudy. How do I get rid of the dark gold? Just keep painting over it, or do I need to wash it?

Do I get rid of the dark gold or the metallic white?? Ofcourse, it’s not even close to done. I just don’t really care for it, so before I get too carried away, I thought I’d ask for help.

Here is my first Ki Rin. I love her!! I didn’t think I would like them at all, but silly me, I have new favorite. Do you think it’s done? I like it, but I’m wondering about any antiquing?? I don’t really want to, but I need opinions.

Oh, and the masking is still on the eyes and horn.

I really like it! Especially the wings! That took a lot of work!

Do you use a spray finish?

I don;t want to hurt the finish on it??

http://www.picturetrail.com works well for me. They provide the forum links to copy your photos directly to your posts.

Love it! Once again, your blending is flawless and I love the color fade!

Let me apologize, I am truely sorry if I offended in any way. And while I don’t care for the piece personally, I do like the color tones you used. I wish there were better/closer pictures to look at.

Alot of the people on here are very nice, truely. Most of them are pro artists. It takes alot of practice to do the work you see here. I, myself am always ready to hear the good, bad or ugly of my stuff. Infact, I usually don’t like what I do, so when I hear someone saying they do like it, I think they are just being nice 🙄 😆

    Welcome!

Everyone is allowed thier opinion, good, bad, blurted out or carefully written. At the risk of standing infront of a firing squad, I for one am starting to feel like there is a “big brother” standing over my shoulder whenever ever I post something. Yes, I really think that particular ebay item looks like something my dog left outside after getting into the trash…but I saw admin was on and knew people were gonna get a hand slapping. 🙄

But hey, thats solely MY opinion. I agree with Ski, this seems like an underhanded seller, not someone who is truely interested in doing a professional, quality job…

I think this is a case of “it must look better in person”. I do wish they would have taken better close up shots. It really doesn;t look like there was any attempt at blending, and in some areas it looks like they just plopped down a spot of paint the shape of the brush. I wonder if they used a flat house paint, it looks so matte in places.

It seems to me like the painter must have seen other PYOs on ebay and wanted to try it. However, the paint job just doesn’t appear to be the quality that most on ebay are, and the Ki Rin in my opinion doesn’t seem to be “collectible quality”.

There is a large and visable difference between the work we see forum members doing and this Ki Rin. I think it would take a blind person not to see that. Maybe this was the best the person could do, and if thats the case, great, I’m glad they tried something new. It certainly is OOAK!!

It was a hard decision whether ot not to antique. I did like how realistic he looked before, but I think overall, he looks more fluid antiqued. I think the next one I do will be lighter in color and I will prolly not antique the whole thing. Hmm, I wonder if windstone is open today??
