Love the Abyssinian! Great coloring, look forward to see what the factory puts out next.

Ditto! Melody has been really branching out with the more difficult patterns for the hoofers, griffins and flapcats. The quality of the patterns are really well done and detailed. Some of the best stuff I have seen come out of the factory yet.

I like the Isis kitty. There have been so many neat paint jobs for the hoofers lately, it seems like the factory is running overtime. So many pretties!

Just what this person was thinking.

This is the package I received in my mail this afternoon. The box is barely deeper than a VHS tape. And that bulge in the middle is the stone Tiger kitten I bought off eBay for a friend of mine. The seller just shoved it right on in there and forced it closed. Now, honestly! What could they have possibly been thinking?! The box was distended a full inch and a half on either side! The kitten came out unscathed, miracle of miracles, but really. It boggles my mind.

This person was also selling an emerald hatching empress dragon. Wonder what kind of box it got wedged into 🙄

Ack! Typical. If it’s heavy they think it’s as hard as steel. You are very lucky in the shipping, but having no real appendages especially helped. Thank goodness. I wonder if the odd shape kept it from getting crushed. Since it didn’t lay flat I’m betting that it was always on top of a stack of other boxes when the postal workers moved it around.

Now lets hope the dragon gets delivered in one piece.

                  He’s a bit garish, but that’s normal.

Sounds like a Mardi Gras Dragon – fitting for February.

Some of you have probably already experimented with changing candle lamp colors, but I thought I would spread the word for newbies or those who haven’t owned a candle lamp before.

Besides the colored votive that comes with candle lamps you also change the color of the candle holder to change the eye colors. The trick is to find one that fits (of course) but is also tall enough to have the color reflected in the eyes. I’ve had good success with the Griffin candle lamp in the past.

Another trick to be tried is using the electric lamp for your style candle lamp and changing the bulb. With a candle lamp with yellow eyes you can get:

Pink (frost) bulb = red or orange (depending on intensity of the pink)
                      Blue (frost) bulb = green
                      Green bulb = Blue/green
                      White bulb = intense yellow
White (frost) bulb = tones down the intense yellow

Has anyone tried experimenting with the green or red eyed candle lamps or have pics of how they like to display them?

That’s what I’m hoping, but many things have been listed #1 that never saw another one come to the light of day. Couldn’t hurt to ask though. 😀

I really liked that tabby cat. But now it’s sold 😥

Usually I’m a sucker for Siamese, but I don’t like it as well without the antiquing. I sure do look forward to seeing what other colors they come out in though.

That sucks about your OW, drag0n. = Did you get that sticky dust off? I figured smoking probably left something like that…we get a lot of people trying to sell us game systems from smoking households, and you can always tell because there’s a bunch of light brownish-yellow dust on the fan ports, and it won’t come off with canned air.

I honestly can’t smell *anything * off the sun dragon or the curl, and I’m pretty sensitive to smell…but not allergic. I tried various weird methods for getting the smell off my sun dragon (without marring his sensitive paint job). None of them worked – I was pretty steamed. He was one of my first Windstones after I got into collecting, and the seller did not say he was a smoker! My fault for not looking at his feedback closer, though, because others had complained without leaving a negative. In the end, I just sat him on the dresser and left the windows open and the fan on a lot. Can’t even get a whiff of it by sticking my nose right up next to him, now! I wouldn’t have bought the curl if I hadn’t been able to rid the sun dragon of his smell, though. It was pretty bad.

I also seem to recall someone saying that smoke (of any variety) could damage the gold plating on horns? True/false? Speculation?

I have only had the misfortune of getting one item with a smoke-like smell (not incense). One thing that helped is spraying (and pat dry, then air dry on its side) the felt bottom with Resolve carpet cleaner. That cleaner gets odors and stains out of carpet like nothing else, and I had a good result from using it on a felt pad on a Windstone. Just don’t soak it (lightly spray) and it should be fine. Hope that helps.
