Has anyone done business with Shop Airlines America, Inc. with any negatives like this?:
http://forums.ebay.com/db1/topic/New-To-Ebay/Shop-Airlines-America/510143053
They won 2 of my auctions and the only request I have received is for the item number to be put on the outside of the package.
Did anyone do the extra Delivery Confirmation (with or without Return Receipt)? Did you include an invoice inside the box?
Did you have to prepare the shipping label/tracking before being paid?
Just wanted to get a feel for what the procedure is with these guys….
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Just my $1.05 worth:
Ikea (as far as I know) is a reliable brand. Just don’t go with any knock of brands from a local discounter (ex. Target, ShopKo, K-Mart, etc.). I have glass shelves for the past 3+ year without issue and I had several heavy sculpts on each level. My shelves were made as a part of a entertainment console (2 shelving units connected with a lower shelf for a big screen). I just bought one, since that is all I needed and they were made for holding electronics (like tuners, DVD players, etc.). Things you want to make sure of is that the glass is tempered, the holders (for the glass) are metal or better (if they are plastic pegs, don’t use it) and that the way the pegs are secured into the frame are secure. My shelves are supported from underneath with a metal frame on 2 sides (no pegs are used) so the weight bearing is done by the glass only, not glass AND pegs.
Distribute weight evenly. It’s ok to have 2 heavy sculpts (i.e. lap dragons, large flap cat, griffins) on the same shelf, but balance them side by side or front to back. If the shelves are supported by pegs only then I would limit one large sculpt to each shelf, and lighter pieces (PYOs, small flap cats, etc.) as extras. The other thing you need be careful of are any other items you have that are long and slender and could tip over in a gentle earthquake or if someone walks by the shelf and it sways a little (yes, they are safe to do this – not everyone has concrete floors that don’t move). If an object can fall over (and is a bit heavy) and has a possible sharp edge, tack it down with museum putty. The danger (even with tempered glass) is that if an object tips over, if it has enough momentum behind it it can crack the glass and then the shelf in danger of collapse. The only pieces I ever had issues of falling over (while dusting) were my mermaid and hatching pegasus. I have another collectible (non-Windstone) that I tack down for this reason.
Don’t fear glass shelves, just find a good sturdy set (do a lot of shopping). You’ll know when you find them.
For very heavy pieces (i.e. Large Wizards) I kept on the bottom most shelf that was metal since there was so much weight concentrated in one space. I did try it on my top shelf – no issues, but I just didn’t like it as well as on the bottom for weight stability with the unit as a whole.
Good luck on your search.
The shelving unit I am currently using. *
* Windstone collection has changed a bit, but this is when it was it’s fullest.

There`s constantly something to drool over.. and buy… 😳 😆
LOL! 😆
How long have you been collecting? Since about 1994, used to stare a lot at the store front windows long before that.
How many do you have? 32 +2 duplicates
What is your favorite piece in your collection? I like the them all for different reasons, but my favorites are the Palomino Mother Unicorn and Amber Abyssinian Flap Cat (stray cat edition).

Ack! Oops! I forgot about the big ones. I’ll edit my title. Sorry for dashed hopes. 🙄
drag0nfeathers wrote:New count as of today 😳 254 (not including PYOs)
Holy cow! I didn’t realize you were up to that many.
My collection is currently 32 + 2 duplicates
I like Melody’s dappling technique better on this one than the last palomino unicorn. Each piece seems to be getting better and better.
Hey Guys,
I just purchased one of the new small Lynx Point Siamese Flap Cats from the Windstone store. After seeing it person it doesn’t appeal to my tastes in color. Would anyone be interested in purchasing it before I put it on eBay? I would like to get my money out of it with the shipping I paid. Asking $90.
It’s exactly as I received it (tag, box, outer shipping box from Windstone) and from a smoke free, pet free household.
Please PM me if interested. Thanks! 🙂
HUGS!!!

Yep, Melody and the Factory have been out doing themselves! Beautiful kitty and a great price too! ($1,175)

You people are CRAZY COLLECTORS!!! Those creatures must be eating you out of house and home! Build a museum already! I have to say, I have gone through many different pieces, watched them come and go, changing my mind, that I am grateful AND jealous at the same time!! I see some and say to myself (poutingly) – I used to have that piece! lol But then I know I don’t have a place for them, and while I get tempted every day, I keep my sanity and resist often!
That danged Grulla Male got to me during a weak moment – and I am already saying to myself I shouldn’t have – but he will look kewl facing my black Griffin….I think. 😡 I still haven’t hung my AL Cat Sconce, because I have such trouble finding the right picture hanger to work and….. :]
Your pictures are ALL wonderful, love seeing these!!!!
LOL! There have always been crazy collectors on the forum! I love seeing the different pieces everyone collects and how they display them. Really cool.
I was once up to 65 and chose to scale back so I could enjoy each piece more (personal preference). I need to scale back again soon and sell some more, but I understand those “weak moments”. I bought a couple over the past 2 years, even though I hadn’t really planned to. I can commiserate with you on seeing a piece in another’s collection that I used to have and think, “I forgot how cool that looked”. But alas, a collection of 1 or a million is still wonderful if you fully enjoy the piece and it brings joy to your life.
I will get updated photos of my current collection soon, but here are some of collection I used to have:
The largest my collection ever got:
