Here are my newest additions… there are a few of them… 😳 I’ve been finding some great deals on eBay lately. A couple of these guys I even got for free! The PYO unicorn just arrived today.
There have been some really great deals on Ebay lately. Especially on the gargoyles and the candlelamps. Congrats!

As for the Flame prototypes, I’m pretty sure a few members got a hold of one, I just couldn’t tell you who.
I think DragonessJade just had one for sale in the Flea Market.
It’s always interesting to see what goes high and what doesn’t. Sometimes there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. Things that you think will go way high don’t and things that you think will never sell for the asking price do. One item will cause a bidding war and the very same item will sell one day later for nothing. Like I said…Very interesting.

I find it less disappointing than when you read something first and see the movie(s) who are way off. V was a very good movie; I got the graphic novel afterwards and didn’t like it as much: it was too dated, I think.
I agree with you. When a movie comes out based on a book, I don’t read the book until I’ve seen the movie. Unfortunately, I am a voracious reader, so many times I’ve already read the book. I’ve read all of Moore’s stuff, so I always end up comparing the movie to the source material.

I don’t really know whether Alan Moore’s opinion of the movie is a good indicator or not. He generally hates movie adaptations of his books regardless. He has been burnt pretty bad. (I’m looking at you, “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”) He will not endorse ANY adaptation anymore. I don’t think he even watches them. I thought “V for Vendetta” was a pretty good adaptation, and Moore did not endorse that.
Rottentomatoes.com has it at a 63 percent fresh. My husband and I are planning on seeing it in IMAX. Probably tomorrow night.

Kinda like the gothic unicorn has, but maybe styled a little differently to fit the wolf better. Wolves are part of the dog family, and dogs wear collars. Just a thought.
I think that I collar would make him look too tame. Dogs wear collars, not wolves. Maybe a bracelet or an earring. That way he would have jewelry but it wouldn’t make it look like he had a master.
Already picked up the new Carrie Vaughn. I am getting ready to deploy again though, so it’s sitting in my stash of unreads, waiting to help pass the time far from home. I must say, it is torture to try and keep from reading it. The Kitty books are so much fun.
Congrats on the new candlelamp!

Some of the urban fantasy authors I read are Kelley Armstrong, Jim Butcher, Mike Carey, Laurell K. Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Mercedes Lackey (her’s is older and doesn’t come out often), Lilith Saintcrow, Carrie Vaughn. I also have a couple books by Karen Chance, but I don’t really plan on getting anymore of hers. It was okay, but I lost my interest after the third one.
Love Kim Harrison and Jim Butcher. Especially Jim Butcher. Grew up worshipping Chicago from a small town 80 miles south. Can’t wait for Turn Coat. Since most of the Urban Fantasy is based on female protagonists right now, it is a nice change to have a dude as the hero.
Also read several of Kelley Armstrong and Mercedes Lackey. Actually, ML got me into urban fantasy. Carrie Vaughn is a fun read too. Haven’t read LKH since the change in her stories.
Have you ever read “War of the Oaks?” It’s by Emma Hull, I think. If you like the above, I bet you would like that book too. Also, you might like C.E Murphy. The Urban Shaman series. Not the other one though, I don’t care for her other series.
Don’t know much about Lilith Saintcrow or Mike Carey. I will have to check them out.
I am glad to hear that the surgery went well. I hope that the recovery progresses quickly and there are no complications. My best wishes to you.
As far as stress reducers go, if you can find the time for yoga, I would really recommend it. It does two things. It helps reduce stress, and you get a good physical workout which helps you health. Good physical health also helps you deal with stress. Some places have basic lessons for very little cost. I have a real problem dealing with stress and I’ve had some personal issues lately. I started yoga and it has really helped me.
Does anyone here read the Southern Vampire series? I am looking for some new Urban Fantasy while I am waiting for some of my regular authors to come out. Haven’t ever read Sookie Stackhouse, the descriptions seemed a little too romance novel for me. Still the author has a new boxed set out and I am thinking of picking it up. Anyone have any opinions?

Also alot of volunteer medics charge as well. Since we are free we get abused alot by people who don’t want to take the bus or a cab.
Doesn’t that seem to be the case a lot? You try to do something nice and it gets taken advantage of 😡
Although I guess some people may not understand why and how it is supposed to be used. Kind of like 911, where the system gets overwhelmed by people calling in on things that aren’t really emergencies.
Well, I hope that your partner is okay and heals up without any problems. Thank you for the service that you do. 8)

Less then a mile!?!?!?! Holy #%#! I ended up pay $350 ten years ago for a 20 mile drive.
I am also curious about the free ambulance. How does that work?
Like everyone, I am sorry you have to sell. I hope you can get everything you need. Best Wishes.
Pm’d you.
Really! All she needs to do is check the auction ID that is one EVERY EMAIL that you send after an auction. It’s nuts. I could understand how she might make the mistake once. Especially when she bought two of the same item. I can’t understand making the mistake twice. This is when you wish that sellers could leave feedback. Buyers like this give everyone a bad name. 😡
