I am heartbroken.
I had finally been able to obtain a retired Brown Male Griffin on Ebay. I payed approximately $200 for him. I was elated.
The seller, however, was less than perfect – never communicated with me, thus I sent the prompts. Delayed shipping twice, each time with grandiose excuses (only one I can verify as an out-right lie). I was patient. Finally he came in the mail, and I was so happy I swear to you I was nearly in tears. I then opened the box to find that the seller had not packed him properly. Half the beak was broken off. His left fore-talon was chipped to it’s height. The top of his head was flaked off due to the constant rubbing of his head on the side of the box.
I tired contacting the seller, and have yet to hear from them. What hurts is that I thought that I’d finally be able to end a 16 year hunt and deserve a little closure in issues surrounding this guy along the years. I’ve lost money, which may not be the most detrimental in the grand scheme of things but does set me back in trying to obtain another. And insult to the aforementioned injury, there is now one less Brown Male Griffin in circulation because some aloof seller wasn’t competent.
… and I can still see his blue eyes peeking out of the box at me. I have to put him downstairs.

Lol! Didn’t mean to suggest that. Just thought it might be awkward for her to call her mother crazy on here only to find out that her mom was on the forum. 😮
No worries, I didn’t take offense and I loved how you worked the joke. 😀

I’m 44Ok, you’re about 2 standard deviations older than I. Never-the-less, I am no FoxFeather’s mother. I swear. 😀

Enjoy your trip!!Teehee – Foxfeather doesn’t realize I’m so close, and that she actually knows me!
Foxfeather, you’d better hope that Rakshar is not your mother.I maybe older than lots here, but I’m not that old! 😮

powers that be, but I just managed to finally purchase through e-bay auction a BROWN MALE GIFFIN!!!!! … we need an emoticon of something throwing a fit.
edit for: my sister just landed me a FLION as well!
I just got the two windstones I’ve been searching for for over 10 years!
I’m relieved to know you’re alive and well, but seriously – get some emergency chocolate in that lab! We keep ours in the closet behind a storage box so the supervisor doesn’t know…

You mean there’s something stronger than duct tape?

twindragonsmum 😀There is NOTHING stronger than duct tape.
perhaps this is my west-coast side talking, but I cannot stop singing praise to Yoga and Pilates and do not stop hearing all the gushing over it from my friends who use it as a means to lose weight (I go for the endurance and balance training, so my exercises are different). I’d caution against Birkam/Hot Yoga since it is potentially a health risk, but around here I know you can get an unlimited pass at $69 for most yoga places, and it seems to be obscenely addictive. Going alone, most of my friends and myself completed a 2 month challenge (that’s everyday for 2 months).
Thanks everyone, I feel loved. 😀
Just throwing this idea out there, but I was interested in creating a topic called “that’s a what now?” which would be about the obscure and somewhat esoteric mythical creatures I stumble upon during my studies. I was wondering if something like this would be well received, or if there would not be much interest in it? I don’t want to create a topic that eventually elicits the response of “there she goes again….”
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, it’s very hard to loose someone you love (even pets are someone!). It never get’s any easier. I wish there was more I could say. Jules is an feather angel now, and I’m sure he’s protecting your family.

Yeah.. Did you get it from me? 😮Watch out…there’s no cure. And no money for research to find a cure (research money has gone to buy more Windstones 😈 lol)
…according to your summary of expenses, you anticipate $5000 in “experimental stimuli” and “operational equipment”?…
Thanks for the tip, I was trying to figure out the display options!
I’m not even too sure what I should say here that won’t come off cheesy, so Hello everybody and hopefully I’ll get the jive of this place soon.
Thanks Blackdesertwind for your greeting!
I started collecting the brochures for over 16 years, but I was able to start acquiring pieces about 6 years ago.
I have 7 pieces: the White Unicorn Family (Mom, Dad, Young and Baby), The oriental Sun-Dragon (green), The Hippogriff candle-holder (red eye) and the Mother Kirin.
I know what will be my favourite piece if I’ll ever be able to obtain it, and right now I wouldn’t be able to choose.
The Brown Griffin (c.f. favourite piece) and the Flion were the two pieces I grew up dreaming about but were long-since retired when I was finally able to purchase any. One day.
