Aww, Nuke. I’m sorry to hear that. That makes you an me both hon! I was barking up that tree for a LONG time myself. Your Unicorn came out amazing though! *shiver* Oooooooooooh! You got to see the Legendary Labrodite Lap in person. I’m jealous!
I’m glad you had fun at the factory though! Someday I’d love to take a trip there myself <3
Corvallis is a super nice small town too (graded the safest town in the USA I think). There are more trees than buildings! I suggest though to wait a year until the factory is organized some more and there’ll be new stuff to take pictures of! lol Melody and John are super super hosts too; my mom and I kept chatting with them till past midnight the whole three days we were there!
Links are fixed; I accidentally hit the submit instead of preview to double check everything 😳
So I emailed Melody wondering if I would be of any help in becoming an airbrush painter to fight back the oodles and oodles of unpainted production sculptures, seen as I live not too far from Corvallis, and her and John invited me to come down and try it out! I didn’t take a lot of pictures because it was mostly boxes, boxes, and MORE boxes everywhere and all the windstones I did see were already published online (except for the purple orientals, but they were hiding under plastic). It turned out I wasn’t the right person for mass production, but it was still an incredible honor to be surrounded with so much inspiration!
So here is the painting and Ebay department! For all the PYO squeakers, the casting is still being perfected and a lot of casts had to be sacrificed so there are a few sitting on carts ready, but not enough to put into the stores, but I bet they will be back in stock by the end of May! The keeper still needs a mold to be made, but their mold maker, Jane, is hard at work! Quite a bit of stone finish sculptures like the cats and the wolf council lamps are the first ready to be restocked.
I’d also like to recognize Suzie, who most of you have contacted regarding orders I’m sure, as a super gal. She’s working just as hard as Melody being secretary and shipper of all orders and is a really great person. So next time you’re mad at something that went wrong with a windstone order and you go to vent it on the person who’s answering the phone I’ll be sharpening my talons to come get you 👿

This is what I painted testing out air brushing for the first time. This is with flash for color accuracy. And this is without flash.

These are the paint booths. Mold making is right behind them.http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4/6298/windstonefactory025.jpg

Melody’s busy shhh.I have exams and tons of other commissions to finish first! I just came back from a visit to the factory and Melody is REALLY busy. But I did get a glimpse of the raffle prize! (and those purple orientals; they’re soooo gorgeous!) I’m not going to say anything to keep it more of a surprise ’cause she might change her mind :3 But I’m so entering!
Ooooooo! I hope I get to catch a glimpse of them before they all sell out next week 😀 Can you hold off until my visit Melody? (for I am currently too poor to think about even buying new clothes let alone windstones at the moment, lol) I’m painting a purple griffin and it’s got me on a purple craze now.

Wow thanks for the tips Drag0nfeathers! :3 I’ve been borrowing dad’s bondo from his car restoration garage to fix chips and such and that dries in a minute! Apoxie sounds a lot less stressful.
Where do you buy your blank eyes from if you don’t mind me asking? And what do you paint them with? Acrylics? I’m always confused how the paint on any glass eye is indestructable (not that I try to remove the paint, just from life’s wear and tear trying to take out and put back in the PYO ones).
Accepting offers starting at $260 USD with FREE shipping anywhere in continental North America. Time restraint will be 5 days after the first offer is made. This post will be constantly updated each time an exceeding offer is made. I accept paypal only.
Golden Acrylics with high quality ruby nail polish and imitation gold leafing on the belly/hooves. Varnished with Golden gloss on the scales and satin for the fur. Will be shipped doubled boxed and insured.
I have a 2007 Acer laptop with Windows Vista, an Intel Celeron processor, 14.1″ screen, 80 GB hard drive, and wireless LAN I could let go for $300 US plus shipping? I’ll have to erase what I’ve installed/clean it up though. I’ll accept part windstone trade-part payment or all payment.
kitsunelady wrote:That looks really pretty, Nuke! Do you have any straight-on pics of his belly? I’m curious about leafing. o.o
This is the closest picture to front on that came out ok http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4/6298/imperial011.jpg
Leafing leaves the surface quite wrinkly (though if you like to give your PYO some character/texture it’s excellent), but it’s very thin and easy to adhere to uneven surfaces with overlapping chunks. Though it is a PAIN to do, it’s so thin that it tries to stick to anything coming near it from static electricity, so carefully carrying it to a deep corner takes some serious skill, or trying to pick it up with your finger, then suddenly your finger has become leafed and you can’t get it off XDHe is complete! I had so much trouble with this guy I think I’d sell him just so I didn’t have to look at him and remember all that frustration XD I browsed through all the photographing tips and built my own DIY macro light tent and it works beautifully!
If anybody is seriously interested in buying him (starting offer will be $270 US plus shipping) Please leave a comment so I can determine if he will sell or not before posting in the flea market while he sits pretty and dries completely.
I just got Leigha’s parent Kirins, now I’m seeking a baby to complete the collection! 😀 I am not picky about condition at all, the cheaper the better (I’m on a budget and I can fix these guys up ok) though a dusty mint just sold on ebay for $66 so I’m going to say that’s the max I will pay for comparison. The seller did not mention how they were going to package so I didn’t want to risk it. I’m happier to be supporting forum members!
YEE! I’m dancing a victory jig for such luck! ^_____^
March 6, 2009 at 12:25 am in reply to: Poll: Should the New Production Wolf have a chain necklace? #753445Ever since I saw vantid’s little wolf painting I’ve fell in love with royal wolves beholding jeweled collars: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/359816/
So I did vote yes, but try something solid instead of a chain! I’m sure it’d be a lot easier to paint :3Ok guys; I need to hold on accepting any more aside from those who have pm’d me already. I want to take a breather after I finish the 5 in line and focus on the end of semester creeping up in April. Thank you all for your appreciated comments and giving me a wider spectrum of subjects to draw 😀 I will add all to the examples once I finish these last five!
