I wont be able to get my two first PYO’s until the weekend after the one upcoming, so being sick and house riddened and itching to get myself prepared and perfected, I took a look at my old two dragon candle holder I bought when I was little. Made in China, poorly painted with no signature, no company brand, looking dusty and old; it was pleading for a makeover to keep rather than dispence in a garage sale (unless someone REALLY wants it when I’m done).
So after a few hours trying to paint in every knook and cranny this is the progress so far on the first dragon. It’s sloppy now, but that’s just the base color and the brush had a hard time reaching places, though the mane is more refined with silver iredescence.

I’d like to know how sloppy are some of you when you’re just putting down the first colors on your PYO? Is it perfection to the end or does it really affect the areas you slopped on?

Don’t let the blur fool you on this one. The original eyes are cheap plastic red jewels and I took the first pair off -well, eye, as it was missing one- to paint gold inside. The sculpter had put grotesque warts on these guy’s faces that didn’t settle with me, so I took the chisel and hammered away and sanded, accidentally taking a tooth off, whoops.

o.o wow, I love the dark buckskin and bay, and the kirin! Did you say you do these in pastels or is there airbrushwork in there?

    Just a quick update.

I’m slowly getting everything boxed up. I have most of the small items boxed, and almost ready to go. The larger items, most still have to be boxed up. I’ve run into a small problem. I’ve blown through my paycheck all ready. (What with bank fees, rent, shipping, buying boxes, packing materials. What a surprise.) Thanks to those who have paid all ready I do have money coming in so I can pay for more shipping. But, the transfer won’t be in my account for 5-7 days. So those that have paid, I need to go to farther away branches of UPS and post office. So they will have to wait untill my day off. (I don’t have a car. So, I can do more running back and forth on my day off then I can if I’m working.)
I still need to find or purchase more boxes. Oh this is too complicated. I have a word of warning to any who decide to sell. Don’t do it all at once. It’s too complicated. So most things I will have boxed soon. Promise. Quotes for most soon.

Ok Thankyou Romeodanny. I’m in no rush but an update every few days is greatly apreciated.

Very beautiful Koishii, I love how you’ve painted her to just shimmer ^^ It works out so much better in the lighter colors. Your waterfall makes a lovely background tune in the video as well. I’d say you’re as proffesional as windstone themselves!

I live in Canada, and though I don’t have any sculpting to prove my talents my dad uses bondo for his cars and my mom’s an artist with top quality acrylics. If you really want to keep your emperor you can cover insurance for shipping with about the same $10 Kyrin charges for repairing. I haven’t the money or the privelidge to see much of windstones up close, this would be a nice experience. Asking someone with their own whole emperor to take close up pictures of the areas where yours is broken would nice too ^^

Oh! You’re the person who did the awesome rave picture of Koishii I love xD I didn’t know who did it!

I’d offer to trade, but I only buy gray eyes for my PYOs (cause that’s really the only color I like for them!)… An idea, on your next order you could order those eye colors and just switch them. The ki-rin, dragon, and gryphons all have the same sized eyes. So if you could use a yellow eyed PYO in the future, that could work if no one takes the offer up?

Sounds good, but I need to make some money before I buy more =__= And I was planning to do that with these griffins. Guess I’ll just have to put my original designs aside and make some new ones.

Did you consider contacting windstone and seeing if you could buy some eyes…?

I don’t think they allow it due to copyright issues, just as they wont send the PYO’s with the eyes unglued.

Ouch! I’m not sure many people are comfortable with taking the eyes out. If I tried, I’d end up breaking off half the face…

Can you not send them back and exchange? Usually, with the post office, if the package hasn’t been open, you can return it for free, no?

Maybe, but it’s not shipped directly to my home (canadian border taxes and all) so if windstone has a set return time period I may get there too late.

There is a safe eye removing tutorial Koishii has provided through pming members. And putting the eyes in a padded ring box is much cheaper than sending the whole sculptures back. But of course they don’t allow that so that’s why I’m asking for anyone willing to trade.

If my first time ordering something online couldn’t have gotten any worse, I realised I had completely missed the option of choosing the eye colors for my PYO griffins and they are already on their way. To save money on shipping, I was wondering if anyone would like to make an eye trade with their next purchase of griffins (or already owned if not picky about the eye color).
I need a pair of red and a pair of orange eyes, and I have two pairs of yellow to offer.
I’m not sure how much it would be to mail them, but perhaps I can add a little piece of original art (digital or traditional, trad will be mailed with the eyes) in thanks for anyone willing to go out of their way for me. If you don’t know about my works my gallery is the website link on my profile.
I would apreciate it a lot.

You tease so much Nambroth. Hell I would meet the highest bid of the one’s auctioned off if I could get one reserved long enough for me to make the money. But alas I am left to drool in your wake of awsomeness. The Labradorites are too gorgeous for a comment worthy of their stature. You have my immense gratitude of sharing so much in the means of video and pictures.

    “Stay off my tail.”
    “My bubble space bites.”
    “Can’t cage this one/me”
    “Caution: Fragile load”
(a ‘baby on board’ sign, so with a baby creature)

*is too lazy to read 9 pages to check if it’s been suggested b4*
Figured it would allow for multiple creatures to be used for the same quote.

Oh that is Nuke, just no more spots. She was also originally named Thae, that’s why the sig says RAVE_Thae….and she was a diff color back then.
