Hi Jennifer, Thats me though so not your fault. I really love taking pictures but im also a bit of a perfectionist so when I get an idea in my head that seemed good at the time, I push myself to the limit and when things start going wrong, I go bazerck! The money thing….Again, part of that whole “big Idea” thing. I needed the supplies to put together the background for my re-created captured uni pic and I spend way more then I thought it would cost for some floral foam, artificial flowers, moss,glue and wood. I never thought it would cost so much for everything but in the end it all came together so its no big deal. I would have been more upset having gone through all that and then not have been able to post!!!! A HUGE THANK YOU to the following people for their encouragement and support!!

OK, Its a much nicer day already! Thank you to everyone who has helped me!!! I really spent a lot of time on this project but Im not very computer savvy so It was getting pretty frustrating that I finally had all these to share but couldnt so THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!! I appologize this is SO LONG!!! I know I can only submit 3 but I thought I could use your help in deciding. I had a hard time choosing because of the time I put into each one so please, let me know which you like best 🙂 The last picture is definitly staying though so theres only 2 additional ones that can stay 🙁
All the others will be deleted on 10/31 before I take my kids out for some trick or treating! Thank you again for all your support and help!! I hope you like these enough to want to see one in the calender if Im actually picked as one of the 13! The other pictures posted by other members are all so beautiful and inspiring. I wish we could all win 🙂
The first “set” Consists of The retired Black Male Unicorn, The White Grand, and The entire White Family of Unicorns. I tried capturing “moments” of them either together or apart as they might look in “The Wild” 🙂 The Last Grand was the most challenging of all (in this set). I had to contort in strange positions, as if I looked like I was playing a game of “twister” over a game board of rock, sand, grit, and LOTS of water. I am happy to report that no unicorns were injured during this photo shoot :p
“Reflections of purity”
This Is My Pintaloosa Family. The young is a Grab bag and was named “Metronome”. Since Metronome is a device used to keep a beat to help musicians while composing music, I have named the mom and baby to match. Meet Metronome, His Baby sister Tempo, and their Mama Rhythm. 😀
The Next few are of my Gothic Unicorns. I didnt have to go hiking to capture these, but it took over three weeks to create the scene or background used for these guys. The very last picture is the one I had in mind since the first week of the contest announcement. It got into my head that it would be really cool to do. I love it but it wasnt too cool to make. I really got involved in the making of that picture so for sure, I will be keeping that one to submit for the contest.

Okay…..Here it is, the “BIG IDEA”, The project that really was creativly challenging! Well, its under the next picture. The next is a picture of the “Unicorn In Captivity”. It is part of a series of Tapestry’s made in the 1500’s! There were 7 in the set that told a “story” of a hunt for a unicorn during the Middle ages. My personal favorite is the last tapestry showing a unicorn in captivity. It lies among a lovely flower garden. He is surrounded by a round fence and is chained to a Pomegranate tree. The Unicorn appears to be bleeding but in fact it is the juice that has dripped from the ripe fruit of the tree.
I spent a lot of time researching these tapestry’s and found out some pretty interesting facts that I otherwise never would have geussed. Either way though, I thought it might be really cool to re-create that look using Gothic unicorn 🙂

I’m so sorry. I tried and tried but I just don’t know what to do or how to fix it. Aside from walking through the park on two separate occasions, with a heavy bag of uni’s, and spending sleepless nights, 3weeks (at least) and over 200 dollars on this whole photo bananza, I’ve also just spent the last week trying to get these right. I am now pushing 44 hours with no sleep. My back and head are killing me. Between my computer ready to have a meltdown, and me being non savvy enough, I’ve just wasted all my time and energy for nothing. I have 11 beautiful pictures to post. I know the limit is 3 but was hoping to post them before the deadline for opinions on which 3 to keep. One of these is definitly a keeper but considering I can’t get any to post, I guess non will make it. I just could cry! Everytime I try, they get cut off. I’ve tried resizing 6 times using 4 Differant photo programs and none have worked. Can anyone please explain how to get them right? I mean, explain it like I was a 3 year old cause thats how I’m feeling. Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer advice!!!!!
Sorry, tried posting pics but my computer hates me! Im working on it but there are about 10 pictures so hopefully my computer doesnt have a stroke before I can get them posted!
Chris. I know what you mean about “a process”!!! I packed a bunch of mine and went on a hiking trip twice!!! I definitly put a lot of effort in this whole thing but I’ve been really disappointed in the shots I got. I’m hoping to get mine posted soon!
My favorite of yours is definitly the kirins! That shot is just beautiful!!! I have to apologize now though cause I am submitting 1 picture with my goth uni as you have 🙁
I spent 3 weeks on building a scene just for that sculpt to submit for the calendar so I’m definitly going to post it. I’m not too happy with my camera right now though so I’m having focus problems and mine may be a complete wash!
The kirins though is truely awesome!!!Lol!!!! I was looking at “new posts” and saw this… “Joep Unicorn”. My heart skipped acbeat because, well, “Joep” is just not a name you hear/see often, if ever. That plus unicorn????? I was definitly all over that. When I saw that it was my PYO, I was like 0000hhhhhh!
Ok, seriously, those pictures do him no justice! Omg, not even close. The color and blending that you did was fabulous! I can’t wait to have him! Thank you so much for taking this on!!!For others who want to know what the real one looks like 🙂

PRICELESS!!!Scenceable-I still like the two Pegasus pictures! The mom and baby and the first hatching with the other eggs. Really like those!
I’ve got some more to post as well that I can’t decide on. I’ll post them soon.*Jaw drops open* ….The Blue Ice Pegasus has to be one of the most beautiful pieces I have EVER seen! To say that I’m “Madly in Love” with him even seems to be an understatement!! 😀
My thoughts exactly! Please, PLEASE make this a production or at least LP piece! I actually am not crazy over this color but when I saw that Pegasus, holy guacamole!!!!! I hope the whole Pegasus or unicorn family comes in this color. Never wanted a test paint soooo badly!!!
That’s one of the first eBay test paints I went nuts over but there’s no point in bidding! I’d loose for sure. I truely hope that blue ice is available for either the uni family or pegausus! It’s just stunning!!! Please please make this a production for uni’s or Pegasus!!!!!!
Here are two I have.The first is Lilliy. She is metallic purple, with pink highlights. She has a blue/purple mane and tail, and clear gems. She is currently on hold for now but may become available later.
