That’s so interesting…I’ve never heard of Candlepin bowling.
I have never heard of it either. I don’t think we have Candlepin bowling here in Finland at all, though, so it’s no wonder if I haven’t heard of it.
December 7, 2007 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Pet names you've inflicted on your poor companions… #639410Everybody seems to have a lot of pets! And such cute ones as well. With great names, too… I cracked up when I read the name Tardo. π
We have two cats, Eetu and Lyyli, a cornsnake named Adam and a miniature pincher Mauno.
Lyyli is our little show off whose nickname is Porno since it often sounds like she’s actually saying the word when she mews. Also, she can’t make a difference between you trying to push her away and petting her. Meaning, once you touch her, you won’t get rid of her before locking yourself into another room. Also, she kinda looks like Russian Blue, having the same fur color.
Eetu on the other hand is the same kind of lazybones as I am. He refuses to recognize almost every single nickname given to him as his own name and obeys only the name Kurt. Eetu was actually found from by the road in the middle of nowhere when he was just a tiny kitten. He was basicly a skeleton back then… and now he’s huge. He grew up with our late dobermann, Devil, and thus learned to walk like a big dog (making lots of noise).. and to drool. Now… Adam… The story how I got him is rather sad and I am not sure if I should tell it on a public forum so I think I’ll keep the story extremely short and simple; Adam’s former owner passed away and everybody in his family was afraid of snakes so they gave it to me since they knew I had always wanted to have a snake and thus I’d take good care of it. I also heard from the family that Adam had actually vanished from the pet shop for a whole year before he was found living under the shelves. Adam has lived an adventurous life so far, huh? He’s still rather small but he’s got a lot of attitude for such a worm that he is.
Mauno. He is our dark, chocolate eyed cutie, who unfortunately has to be on constant diet, eating only the same kind of food since he’s got some kidney problems… Well, anyways. Mauno, in fact, belonged to my sister but her another miniature pincher was always picking up a quarrel with him so he moved to live with us (after getting a little piece bitten off from his ear). He’s such a pansy, but he is a very cute pansy. And intlligent, too! Once I was writing a reeeeaaally long journal entry on my laptop, and had almost finished writing when Mauno came scratching my arm (that’s what he always does when he wants someone to scratch his tummy). I shoved him away saying “Not now”. Mauno looked at me for a while, having this “Fine then, you asked for it” expression on his face, and then he slowly placed his paw on some button on my laptop… and the journal I had been writing for the last couple of hours got completely deleted! Well, of course, it could have nothing to do with Mauno’s intelligence, it could be just a coinsidence… But I just like to view it that way for it just fits the situation so well.
Hmm, that’s it! Well, about the pets we currently have, at least. Haha, sorry for the long explanation! π I got slightly carried away now that I got a chance to prattle on about them.
December 7, 2007 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Behind the Screen- Real Photos of Windstone Collectors! #586067Hmm… I guess I should put a photo of myself here as well. If I manage to find/take a decent one, that is. π
Aww, man! You’re just… incredibly talented! I wish I could draw like you! π
I’ve been to several musicals… but Cats I have missed completely. I was thinking about going to see the musical when I get my lazy butt to England… Well, IF I get my lazy butt to England. But I’d truly like to see the musical. I’ve only seen bits of it.
Yeah, this definitely is a cool idea, to make some PYO(s) travel the world. I don’t think I’d take part, though… Just to make sure the PYO won’t get killed during the shipping to Finland. It’d be a quite long (and expensive) travel. And dangerous. For the PYO. Yeah.
I guess that means “No, never!” then. XD I have been warned…
Welcome! π I hope you enjoy your stay here on the forums!
A ventriloquist won America’s Got Talent? That’s pretty cool! I can’t really say if he necessarily deserved to win since I have never seen any of America’s Got Talent’s episodes so I don’t know what all other participants did… but I do admit he is very good at what he’s doing. π

Huzzah for Mari! *bounces* I’m very excited to see you here, in case you couldn’t tell. π
Bah! You call that excitement? You can do better than that, Chessie! Nah, just kidding here. ;P After getting me to join the forum, with all that delicate hinting and straightforward commanding, you should be excited to see me here.
And I must say, you were right. This is a very nice forum. People are extremely nice and they all welcome you aboard pretty much right after you join in. Which is a very pleasant thing… Most other forums haven’t been anywhere near as welcoming as this one.Oh, and thanks for complimenting my “politically correct circumlocutions” phrase, too! ^_^
Greater Basilisk wrote:I pay $69 for the shipping of an OW.
Oooookaaaaayyyy… π― That definitely is a lot… The biggest shipping cost I have ever paid was 20 euros (approximately 29,24 dollars, I think). I sent this one book to Chessie back then.

Blue is my fav color, too. As soon as I finish the boys b-day pyo’s I’ll start on mine which will be blue, blue, blue!

BLUUUUEEEE! You better send some pics of that one when you get it done!
I really should try my hand at painting one of these PYO pieces as well… I’m a little afraid of ruining a beautiful sculpture by doing so, though. π But then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained… So I guess I’ll do it anyway. And Scorpiolady21, you definitely have to post some photos of your finished PYO piece when you get it painted. We all want to see it! π

and then we all made jokes and it kind of went downhill from there….and somehow I ended up with all the dragon spirits in my butt… π―
LOL
I’m sure someone can post a link to that… π
Oooh, I see… So it’s an inside joke originating from that auction. I first thought it’s just something someone had randomly typed on some post without any reason.
Also, using three words that include “some” in them in the same sentence sounds really stupid. Just noticed since I did it myself. π I seem to be extremely verbal today.December 6, 2007 at 1:59 pm in reply to: Cat Problem / Question Has anyone had a cat with this? #642512I had never heard of a problem like this before reading your post… But dang, it sure sounds just horrible! I feel really bad for something like that happened to your kitty. π I really hope the hypoallergenic pet food will work and your dear cat gets better.
Congrats on my behalf as well! As for the colors you mentioned, they sound just good to me. Personally I’d probably paint it with different shades of blue but that’s just because blue happens to be my favorite color. 8) In any case, I can’t wait to see your piece painted!
