I hadn’t bought any PYO’s in ages and ages – but I couldn’t resist these when I saw them in the store.
I can see I’ve been friended by a few here! I’m Spinneretta over on Twitter, as that’s my handle on my own website..
I use a Mac myself (with Windows on it for the rare occasions I need it) and firefox is my browser of choice.
At work (windows XP-based environment) our security admins won’t let Chrome on the network. They’ve even set up the anti virus software to uninstall Chrome if anyone puts it on the machines!
I never used to be scared of the dentist.
Then, while in the second stage of a root canal (cleaning out the innards of the tooth after the nerve has been removed) the dentist hit some live nerve tissue right down deep with the drill. Full blown out pain reflex, broke out in sweat, knees came up into foetal position, I burst into tears… the poor dentist was mortified! Managed to get myself under control fairly rapidly, being an adult and all, but I’ve never been as comfortable about going to the dentist since… can’t imagine why!
I love, love love love LOVE, the cookie color. I don’t know why, exactly, but I saw it and *grabbyhands* Do want!
(I think I managed to avoid any actual Windstone replication, although it’s a bit hard when you’re playing with vaguely peacock colours. I did look at the store for anti-reference photos..)
My newest isn’t technically finished yet, but I’m so pleased with him I had to share anyway… (photos will be forthcoming and/or replaced once he’s done for good!) I still have some gold leaf to do over the tops of the wings, touch up the chest where my gold got a bit enthusiastic, varnish, antique, and varnish!
😀 😀
(I work tech support, and these are the tools I use to rip out malware. Usually they’ll do the trick for me, and I don’t have to break out the rest of my arsenal.)
First question: What is your antivirus product? Make sure it’s properly up-to-date, and that you’ve scanned your whole PC thoroughly. If you run across Antivirus 2008, avoid like the plague, IT IS A VIRUS.
Recommendations on free av products: AVG AntiVirus, Avast!Second: Download a spyware removal product. NOT all AV programs can remove trojans et al – that’s not what they’re designed for.
Recommended: http://www.superantispyware.com/ – Super Anti Spyware, http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html – Spybot Search and Destroy, http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php – AdAware.
Don’t, for the love of little apples, run them all at once – they’ll have competitions about who gets to destroy the malware! Run one at a time, then run the next, etc, until all is gone.I actually tried this today! The bacon stays in my sandwich much easier 🙂
(cooked the bacon in the weave, cooked then shredded chicken, put those two and cheese in a sandwich press. *nooom*)
My PYO’s just arrived!! (Fuzzy too 😀 )
And holy packaging, Batman. The dragon I’ve unpacked so far has that plasticky tissue stuff wrapped round it, then a bag, then LOADS of bubble wrap, then more of that plasticky tissue stuff, then a box, and that’s in a HUGE box full of packing peanuts. (Said box contains two dragons.) The whole thing is over a foot each side! I swear you could play football with these boxes and the Windstones would come out the other side unscathed.
I’m not allowed to unpack any more though 🙁 I’m supposed to be packing to move house, not unpacking shinies…
(Disclaimer: I work in tech support.)
I use allsorts at home, and support Windows at work. We’ve rolled XPSP3 and have had no problems in the workplace so far. Vista… I have mixed feelings, but I’m running it on my gaming rig and it’s fine.
Supporting Windows at work is the reason I try to avoid it at home, gaming excepted. I have a Macbook Pro and I love it.
Woe! I never saw this thread 🙁 and I just ordered my dragons. *grump*
Yaay, dragons! *buys*
*weeps, wants keepers 😥 *
*hugs* It’s hard to lose family, regardless how prepared for it you are.
Pets aren’t people, but they sure are family. Of course you’re mourning. And in this case, if she was a reminder of your father as well…
I’ve noticed a lot of animals distinguish between little ones and adults, in what they’ll tolerate. I got taught to respect kitties by a huge-arse bruiser of a tom, who beat me up for waking him up by pulling on his tail, approximately age three. Without using his claws or teeth. He just sat up on his hinds and whapped me a couple of times in the face*. Later on, once he’d established that I knew Proper Cat behaviour, he’d knock me over by smooching around my legs until I lost my balance, then sit on me and purr 🙂 (I miss that cat. RIP, Ginga.)
(*I went crying to my mother, who promptly told me off for annoying the cat…)
