Hey everyone! She went for ÂŁ155 which is a great price, about $252. Sorry about the confusion with the whole international thing, it did seem to put a few people off. I’m not sure I’ll do an eBay auction again, it was such a scramble and a panic in the last hour but it was an interesting experiment! PayPal charges a nasty conversion fee so I’m pretty adverse to listing it in dollars. I think I just need to move to America considering that’s where I get most of my customers haha.
Congrats Skylover! I’m having a sort of exhibitiony art previewy party at my studio tomorrow so I will post her on Sunday, hope you don’t mind! Helaku and one commission are the only two finished dolls I have in my studio so it would be pretty lame to have an exhibition with only creepy half-finished skeletal dolls lying around hehe.
Thank you to those who placed a bid *hugs!* I was really unsure how these dolls would go down on the Windstone forum but there’s been an amazing response, so I will definitely be advertising more here when they get made.
Incidentally if I was to start an email newsletter about upcoming dolls/auctions would you sign up to it? Or is that going a bit far?
Haha that’s awesome ^_^ She’s only got an hour and a half left!
Haaah I know exactly what I’m going to do! ^_^ This is so exciting.
It’s just a little idea but it’s helped me a lot, and that’s the whole point of this quest… right? Right!November 16, 2011 at 10:24 pm in reply to: Chantilly the unique, handmade, posable, furry art doll! #862735Me too but I guess that’s how these things go. I didn’t advertise the butt off her cus I was away for four days, so I suppose that kind of dented the whole thing. Whoever gets her (if she stays at this price) is getting an AMAZING deal though, especially with 25 people on the customs waiting list (with prices starting at ÂŁ150!!)

Eee okay the listing is live! Here’s the link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300620609202?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_4840wt_914
I’ve also made a thread in the non-windstone flea market area. Ooohhh I’m so excited! An auction, so different, so scary.Ohh Janine that’s a great idea! I guess I’ll start my first auction then! I reckon she’s a good doll to start with! I’ll post the link here once i’ve finished typing up the blurb.
Thank you guys!
I think there might be a problem with my PMs? I don’t seem to be receiving any that are sent. If I don’t reply to a PM then please email me at hello (at) magweno.comIn other news I finished a random doll today while I was waiting for a delivery. She’s called Helaku and I thought in honour of the amazing welcome I got here I’d show her to you guys before any of the other websites I frequent!
She will be for sale but I haven’t decided on a price yet. (Still tallying up materials.)
November 2, 2011 at 10:25 pm in reply to: WOOT! I did it! My biggest repair ever! PIC HEAVY! #861572I wouldn’t call it cheating either, I think what you did was so clever and BRAVE! I would never cover a beautiful original with latex, but then I think I can be overly cautious with things like that. I would never have thought to take a mould of another sculpt either, haha. Genius.
Did I see you mention on Melody’s DA that you keep chickens too?
Yep I’ve got 14 quails, 3 chickens, two french partridges, a turkey and two love birds. And Janine is right, my tumblr is mostly photos of them, rather than my actual work! There’s about three bird photos to one WIP doll photo haha.
@Janine Yes I have! But I haven’t done much haha. I wasn’t expecting to get the airbrush so that kind of makes it 10x more fun when I do sit down to work on him.
@LavenderStarfish That’s an awesome idea, Liwanu – the first doll in first post – was heading along an ottery line but then I decided to add scales and well… He didn’t really turn out looking like an otter.
The otter in your avatar is too cute, I’ll definitely have to make one sometime! Nice to meet you too haha
@Lokie Luca was an incredible commission to do haha, SO many feathers. I still find red feathers floating around in boxes…

Edit:
Just finished another commission today, the Baby Balrog!
Got to use my new airbrush, woohoo!
Hi Amy! The last one was a commission for someone who wanted me to make a creature they had invented called a ‘rabigon’, a rabbit dragon. They pair with pregnant women and when the child is born they stay with it for its whole life (if I remember right)… It was a really lovely story behind it hehe
Wow what a response, thanks everyone, I’m glad you think they’re cool
@dragonmedley I got into trouble on DeviantArt about that, everyone thought it WAS a ferret that I had dressed up and I got yelled at a few times for animal cruelty :S It took a few progress photos to reassure them it was actually a doll, I’m just really pleased it looks that realistic.
@Jennifer No way, that’s awesome! I feel all fuzzy thinking the amazing Nambroth has looked at my work haha <3
