However, some smuck in New York always seems to get it, never anyone in Idaho. *sigh*

Any news guys?? I might call Laurie & see if she knows anything. If she does, I’ll have her update us.

It's so NEW AND SHINY!!! #861768Another way you can match the purple at least on a rainbow is paint the area dark blue, then use the purple interference paint on top. Comes out pretty close, but the best thing to do is ask Melody for the purple & the blue. She was kind enough to give me some a few years ago, but alas I am out of both…the little jars she gave me have faulty lids & they dried out on me.

November 4, 2011 at 10:29 pm in reply to: drag0nfeathers Repair and PYO Commission List *First Post Updated Regularly So Check Often* ^_^ #861719Aww…thanks Kiya. I agree, Drag0n is terrific at repairing too, even if she “hates” it. I am hoping people realize that she & I aren’t in competition, never have been & neither of us will feel bad if you go to the other. When I first started doing repairs I was pretty much the only one who actively did them, I am so relieved that there are now several others who also do repair.
I do want to start repairing things again, & plan to start again in January. Just wanna get some Xmas PYO’s painted first, so not planning on any until then. That said, if someone desperately wants one done so they can gift it as a Xmas present, contact me, if I can swing it, I just might do it.

Actually if there is enough spaces in the legs that ApoxieSculpt would be a large part of the support, it would actually be a good thing. AS is tough stuff.
If I were to try to fix this, I would do it upside down, with no weight on the legs until they were fully restored, then stand him up & see if it can be trusted or not, keeping a light hold on him, just in case.
I hope you get some kind of compensation for this guy, & if you want to give repairing it a shot, let me know, I am actually very interested in challenging my repair skills against this one.

P.S. Sorry about the thread hijack, didn’t mean to. 🙁
November 4, 2011 at 1:30 am in reply to: Auction for Cat House on the Kings!!!! *Starfire* Has Ended #861668Laurie is an old hand at raffles, and for what it is worth, she’s earned more for her cause from her raffles than from auctions. Consider, one person giving you $35, versus 10 people giving you $5, have to admit $50 is better, but the chances of it only being 10 people is pretty slim, likely it will be more.
Putting everyone’s name in a hat & pulling the winner isn’t hard & kinda fun as everyone gathers on the forum waiting to see who won.
Good luck! She’s really cute btw!

That’s great!

Thanks Stephanie, Dragonmedley has met him, I can’t even begin to say how complete & happy my life is now that I have my husband in my life. I just wish I could have met him sooner than I did, but then again everything happens for a reason, so when we met was the right time.

November 3, 2011 at 12:28 am in reply to: WOOT! I did it! My biggest repair ever! PIC HEAVY! #861592That’s true, that stuff is tough! My 5 yo likes to take the leftover & make little animals, I have several interesting “snakes”. LOL!
You could do it with AS, but I think your solution was the best one for this case, & it came out beautiful. Ya gotta teach me how to make molds, that whole thing was slick, & lord knows that will not be the last Emperor tail broken.

Thanks guys! I will be considering taking one or two repairs starting in January. I finally have everything that wasn’t mine more or less done & cleared out, gonna take a short break, (I know for you guys it seems like it was a long one, but PixieDust’s dragon was one of the last ones I still had left, so until he left I considered myself still “working”.) so I can fix up a few I have had sitting around for a bit, & paint some of my PYO’s. Laurie got me a Keeper 2 years ago, he still resides in his box unpainted, something wrong with that!
I am so happy Pixie’s dragon is no longer sitting on my desk staring at me accusingly. 🙂 I wish I could see her face when she gets him.

November 2, 2011 at 11:33 pm in reply to: WOOT! I did it! My biggest repair ever! PIC HEAVY! #861580I was teasing, even I wouldn’t have been willing to try to re-sculpt that much of him. I was intimidated enough just rebuilding a 4 inch section of tail, I could not imagine doing as much as was missing on yours.
I know how I would have done it though, but it would have taken a very long time to rebuild it, not to mention a lot of ApoxieSculpt! The tail section I did on PixieDust’s took me several weeks, & that was after I built the base shape of the tail to build all the scales onto.
Kyrin
It will be okay, hang in there! We’re all rooting for you.
