If it was me, I’d make around 50 or so then just make more as needed…you would only have to make enough for each year, since it would changing the next year. Or just have a certain time to sign up..like a three month period..sign up after that and you get the next years piece instead…that way you could pre-determine how you would need per year.
At least your making progress.. π
How does Gypsum go bad out of curiosity.. ?
Don’t worry about the mice..as soon as snakes know their there they’ll take care of em’… π *
* Seriously though, be careful around any dark holes and crevices.. if mice can get in.. π
I have a Male Brown with no felt I picked up from eBay and he looks like a middle stage between the two you have..he’s def not that brown..but also certainly darker and not as yellow as the other.

Since everyone has to enter for each one I’d say it varies…but I was curious myself what my actual chances were so I looked up how many members we had in total.. the rules didn’t specify wether you had to be a posting member or not or really anything else that I could tell…using that info..I’ll tell you, I’m entering as often as there is something I even remotely want..12 months in a year it will be a long while before all those members are gone through… π
February 5, 2009 at 11:47 am in reply to: Will there be a Yearly Special Windstone Members Only Pieces #751004We might know about them..but even members get left out of some items from time to time…would be nice to have a guaranteed item.. π
Then there were all those special deals , discounts, ect, mentioned that would really help some of us out in actually purchasing new pieces… π

I have to agree…there at least three current sculptures left I’d consider purchasing one of in that color, an Emperor, Rising Spectral or of course..an SK… π
Most of my shelving is custom made, steel brackets, wall mounts, and 2×4 framing…they’re not going anywhere… π
Unless there’s a tornado..or earthquake…or a really clumsy person runs head long into them.. ( of course they’ll prob hurt themselves as bad..or worse.. than the sculpts.. )
Great to hear the cogs are turning and looking forward to some re-stocks !!! *
* and maybe new products eventually… π

What are the chances of seeing new colors for the SKs in the next 4-6 months ? Not real good. We are out of unpainted SKs, and we aren’t going to be casting them too soon, I don’t think. We did find a few finished ones, in old colors, (-Gold and Peacock -?) that we have put in the store
I’m really leaning toward the Rainbow..but I would like to see her in the other colors like Red Fire before making such a large monetary decesion ( prob my entire tax return )…of course if I wait and don’t like the other color as much then I may have lost my chance at the previous one… being limited editions and all…quite a quandary for me.. π π
February 2, 2009 at 8:19 am in reply to: 2 Dragons and 1 Cat for sale Finished with a few pending pms #750810Darn it..if I’d seen that OW a couple weeks ago I would snatched him up fer sure…
Your viewpoint is valid…sure they are sculptures and art …but having a past and a history make them more interesting and add to the appeal for me…if you want to remove all imagination and fantasy they are all stones…beautifully sculpted and painted but still stones…just objects. I look at em’ and I see a Dragon though..ones that have origins ( in the creator’s and owner’s minds I’m sure ) and stories to tell… we’re just giving our opinions on what we think they are. ” God is in the details… ” or so I’ve always believed…these sculpts look to alive for me to just think of them as art..I think that’s why we name them.. π
Wanting more pairs and mates for certain sculptures is really us just wanting more new Dragons to get..lol..no matter wether our wallets or accounts can deal with it…heh they also make for more display options..I think many of us enjoy displaying our Dragons together as much as possible or as space allows. You mentioned the Spectrals.. does any sculpt having the same eyes qualify as a Spectral ?iIf so there are already more than two of them.. but I wouldn’t mind more or at least another one in a diff pose…I actually disliked them until I bought my first one now I’m saving for the Riser…hehe.
I would love if Melody did some kind of artbook with all her personnal thoughts about each piece in it and even sketches she did for them..a Windstone ” bible ” if you will. We might get some of these questions answered therein.. π
I would guess the larger pieces are more difficult simply because they are larger in size and a bit more detailed than the smaller ones.
What a hoard you must have DM…and still wanting more eh ?
Your such a Dragon…not that I’m much better..or.. is that worse.. hmmmmm π
LunarTic2 wrote:That is my very first attempt to paint a dragon…it was a ceramic that I found in a wild little shop in Myrtle Beach, SC…bought it, brought it home and it sat there for two years before I was ready to paint it…did’nt come out to bad, used a dry rub technique, could have used more color on the belly…but once it was fired, your done, π It is just a bit taller than my Emp due to the wings and it is sitting where my Rising White Spec. is going when it arrives, and I am patiently waiting… π π
I will post a better picture of that big blue rascal. It is a pretty boy!
This is my second attempt to paint a dragon…It is an incense burner that I use as a wall sconce…I am working up the nerve to do a Windstone PYO…
It looks like an Ice Dragon…nice job ! I wouldn’t mind seeing a windstone with that combination of white and blue.. π We’ve made yearly trips to Myrtle Beach but I have the hardest time finding something to suit my interests..this last time was pretty awful..couldn’t find a thing a wanted..I think only Wolf Creek Gallery carried Windstone and they didn’t have any pieces I wanted at the time..Dragons in general weren’t easy to come by unless you wanted junk..I did find some nice wood carvings in Black Market Minerals for friends though. Things are changing so much over there right now..I’m not sure I want to go back this year..I mean I’ve just about done everything I wanted to do..except Dragon’s Lair Golf..not sure if that’s a reason though..lol π
I’d also like to see some pics of your white Spec when you get it in… that was the first color I thought to get myself…a nice ghostly dragon.. π
I’d be happy with just one…but I can’t decide which one…the ones in the store look amazing..but what other colors are possible ? That a real pain for someone who decided on ” just one of each ” … :shout: π
