Gah, so little money, so many awesome Windstones. I wasn’t a fan of the Spectrals, but apparently that just changed π

Eeeep! π―
Forget I even said it! *Hurries to throw pillows under the ledge, just in case*
Holy crud…and I do mean crud. Somebody give the poor little guy a bath π―

Just keep pestering! We tried not to be a pain, but we kept on asking every time we were in town. They didn’t have the chance to forget!
And yes, that’s exactly what I don’t want to deal with: breakage and especially customs. The bill they slapped on my two PYO’s when they came into Canada was insane π
Arya, I just wanted to mention… Whenever you get something from the US, try to use USPS for shipping. If you use a courrier service (USP, FedEx, DHL, or whichever) you get slapped with a brokerage fee, up to 40% of item value. But if you use USPS you only get to pay taxes on it. I learned the hard way!
40%…ouch! I will have to keep that in mind, thank you! π―
Pfft, Windstones aren’t addictive!
…*twitch*
Congrats! π
Wow! π―
They almost look like a chorus line! π

Oooh, very pretty *resists the urge to steal dragon and run off*
I’m considering ordering one for myself, I hope there’s at least a little purple in the regular production ones
The woman I dealt with the first time in the shop wouldn’t believe me that it was just the distributor that closed, and not Windstone itself, but I noticed she was way at the back of the store when I visited again. The owner seems to have the story straight though, and that’s the important one! π
She did warn me that the pieces would likely be a bit more expensive here from now on, but being as I wasn’t aware of Windstones before the distributor was out of the picture, that really won’t scare me off
I will, although she isn’t very comfortable with online forums like this for some reason. Maybe if I keep sticking pictures of wolf griffins under her nose, she’ll cave in

Not entirely my magic, my sister worked a little of her own too! I think I may just have got her addicted as well 8)
Sorry to raise this thread from the dead, but people did ask me for updates as I got them, and being as other Canadians are starting to come forward to ask how to get Windstones up here, I figured I’d post this.
My sister and I visited the shop again today, this time with my sister going over to the counter to ask about the pieces on display. The lady behind the counter explained to her that the distributor was gone, but that the shop was in contact with the company and was considering putting an order in! She even pulled out a catalog so my sister could have a look at what was retired and what was still available! It’s working! *happy dance*
I’ve just got to decide what piece(s) I want to order in through them to give them that last kick in the butt to make this reality. It’ll have to be something small right now, I haven’t had a summer job long enough to build up much spare cash…darn school bills ruining everything! π
Thanks for all your help guys, my friends and I really owe this to your advice and explainations! You’re an awesome group of people! π
You probably remember me dealing with a Canadian shop earlier this month. I basically let the shop owners know about this website, with all the contact info here, and then I emailed Susie the shop’s address and phone number so she could talk to them if she needed to. So far I’ve heard that the owner is “seriously considering” selling Windstones, so hopefully this will work! I’ll let you know how it goes, if you think that will help you π
Welcome! π
Poor thing, she really got bashed up π―
Hopefully she’ll be looking a whole lot better soon!I’m still extremely jittery about painting my first two PYO’s. I ordered them months ago while I was still at university, but now I’m home and have the time, and I’m too nervous to start yet. I’ve been watching the galleries and forums for hints and tips, but I just end up feeling like I can’t do justice to them! I’ve painted a lot of ceramics, plaster pieces and even rocks for years now, but I somehow just don’t feel like I’ve had enough experience.
Bah, I’ll get over it eventually, and I suspect it won’t turn out nearly as bad as I keep dreading π
