June 17, 2019 at 7:25 pm #1570013LOL!! Hope the door does hit her on her way out!! Those are the days you can look forward to I guess; when her ass ain’t there.
June 22, 2019 at 4:18 pm #1570428I came into work today and noon and of course she had already gone home for the day when I got here because she said her daughter was feeling sick and her husband couldn’t deal with it. No… it’s because it’s 80 degrees on a Saturday… I don’t understand how her kids are in tip top health Monday thru Friday but BAM the weekend hits and they are bombarded by plague. Every freakin time…
In the mean time I have 3 blown discs in my back and am walking with a cane now and I can manage to make it into work. I was offered short term disability and refused it like an idiot. Maybe I should reconsider it.Got a busted Windstone?

Not to mention you need to take care of your health and back issues are nothing to ignore.
June 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm #1570435Get a Doctor’s note outlining your back issues and TAKE the Short Term Disability or Family Leave, whatever it’s called!
You NEED to take care of yourself and don’t take back injuries lightly or you will be headed to surgery… then Who will take care of you?!? I don’t believe your employer can legally fire you for it, so don’t worry about that. And as merrillann mentioned, she may implode and have to either quit or get fired (finally!) with no excuse for her bad performance… or (GASP!) actually DO some Work!! Oh Gawd! The HORRORS of doing a real job!TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Please!

Please take the leave and get things taken care of now, when the injury’s new enough and you’re still young enough to heal well!
June 22, 2019 at 8:53 pm #1570444OMG!! What a freaking douchebag!!! I hate to judge people without actually knowing the other side, but this person has no redeeming qualities at all. You most definitely have to take care of yourself and get your butt on that short term disability or FMLA or whatever they call it. They by law cannot fire you or let you go or give your job to someone else. If it’s so bad that you need a cane, you definitely need to see a doctor and get help!
June 22, 2019 at 9:49 pm #1570447I agree, take the FMLA and STD. That sounds so painful and needs taken care of. And having it documented keeps you and your job protected.
June 23, 2019 at 2:22 pm #1570475Hey, take that leave and come down here to Orlando for a few days, just saw on the news that the science museum is having a TMNT exhibit… (tempt tempt)

OMG I want to go! LOL! I wish.
I’m afraid of taking the disability because it all hinges on a doctor saying I can’t work and I haven’t seen a real DOCTOR doctor in my entire life. I did make an appointment finally, this whole back ordeal finally prompted me to do it, but because I’m a new patient it’s booked out in the end of July and my job needs the information within the next 2 weeks to approve the claim. Meaning, I wouldn’t get paid for the whole time I am out and I can’t afford to do that. Right now I am trying to medicate the pain away, but nothing is working.
I’m going to try the FMLA route and see if for now at least I can get a note that will get me approved for FMLA until I can get to a doctor. That way I can be excused from work or call out and utilize my sick and vacation time if absolutely necessary and it keeps me protected from getting into trouble with absences. I see the chiro again tomorrow and hopefully he will accommodate me with what I need to get that done and I’ll have to grin and bear it until I get to the stupid doctor who will then refer me to someone else and THAT will be booked out another 2 months with my luck.

Could you go to an emergency room or urgent care to try and get the ball rolling quicker? I don’t know if that would work since I don’t have insurance so never go to the doctor except for the hematologist myself.
June 23, 2019 at 4:51 pm #1570489I agree with Pip. You might think “I’m not dying so it’s not an emergency” but spinal issues are serious so it really is. Also they should be able to provide you with the documentation you need, and might be able to get you to a specialist sooner.
June 27, 2019 at 3:51 pm #1570940I already went to the ER. They took Xrays, charged me 300 bucks… and wouldn’t give me the Xrays… really?
All I got was a pain shot (which was nice for a few hours) and a 5 day script for prednisone which didn’t do much.
