We had to euthanize our sweet pet hen yesterday and I am really depressed over it. She was only three and riddled with tumors.
My sympathies and condolences. I hope her passing was peaceful. It’s always difficult to lose a friend and family member. No matter if they’re furry, feathered or scaled.

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmJuly 17, 2014 at 11:38 pm #915713Since I pretty much don’t have family that could (or would) cosign or friends period, have to get a title loan to get the money to upgrade my driver’s license for the tentative driving job- wah. It won’t be easy being gone months at a time, but the money will be worth it- finally to make a living wage! 🙂 My family is going to rage, but they will hush once I start throwing money at them. And I can buy Windstones then! lol And they allow you to bring a rider after probation, so my 15 year old daughter can come along on breaks.
Am sad that I will probably have to get rid of some of my favorite orchids though. I have accumulated a LOT over the years. A friend has offered to care for them, but he’s 94 and it would be asking too much. The hardier ones okay and thanks, but don’t think my beloved antelope dendrobiums would survive winter. I love them and they’re fiendish hard to find, been searching them out for years, but… guess I have to find someone further south or with a greenhouse who wants them. 🙁July 31, 2014 at 9:45 am #916827I need a shot! Someone wanna take a shot with me??
So, it’s been an interesting enough night for me, as I have not at all been able to sleep and it is now 3:30am… I just stumbled into a bit of info that is going to inevitably keep my not-so-happy self awake the rest of the night!
Nothing like signing in to your bank account to make sure the check’s you put in it all cleared from the other day (Funny feeling made me look), to see a listing that say’s “Funds Transfer Debit” (I quite literally do not know what this is, as it has never popped up on my account before) that took ALL of my money out of my account. Nearly $400, vanished! and now I’m at nearly $100 negative, because a couple things processed through my account, and overdraft fee’s NAILED me (There is more in fee’s than charges, by a significant amount)… Let’s add to that, I need to pay my auto insurance asap, and I am supposed to be shipping Maleficent out to her new owner, but ebay won’t release my funds, even for shipping, so I have NO money to do it with!and at 3:30am, I would like nothing more than figure out what the hell this whole thing is, but at 3:30am, there isn’t a d*** thing to be done! – What is even better to know in this whole event is how quickly my bank was on it to let me know of something suspicious, or even to let me know I’m about to overdraft my account… (ie. I stumbled the hell into it out of luck more than anything, they didn’t tell me a d*** thing!)
I have had more than a couple occasions lately that life has decided to tell me to f-off… But I’m thinking this one is my cake topper right now. I can’t stop crying because I can’t do anything and I’m in an absolute panic…
I guess this is what I get for trying to pay my bills at 3am! So much for “If I can’t sleep I might as well be productive” 🙁
July 31, 2014 at 11:25 am #916828The only time I’ve seen anything like funds transfer debit on my account is when the bank transfers money from my saving to my checking in an attempt to cover something that is going to take me negative. Then of course my bank charges me an NSF fee and the transfer fee on top. This summer hasn’t been good to me financially so I’ve had that happen twice. The bank fees made me go further negative than what they were covering. I never got a notice anything was going wrong either. Both times I decided to log into my bank app only to wish I hadn’t.
My woes came from my ex husband choosing not to pay child support for the month of June because he feels that if he has our son the majority of a month then he isn’t obligated to pay for it. Of course that isn’t how our papers are written, but I don’t have any money for a lawyer to take his ass to court to close some loopholes that I have realized exist in the papers.
July 31, 2014 at 1:22 pm #916831Is a “Funds Transfer Debit” what happens when bills are on auto-pay? I don’t use it so I don’t know what shows when insurance, for example, is drawn directly from a bank account.
July 31, 2014 at 1:54 pm #916833Someone took the money from your account and transfered it somewhere else. It could show up like that if you use autopay. You need to call the bank and find out where the money went. Someone might have compromised your account and transfered the money out to another account. The bank should be able to track that and find out where it went.
This is why I am not a fan of autopay. Autopay does not pay attention to your balance. It just takes the money out even if it is not there incurring all sorts of fees. PM me if you need some help. I am very good at dealing with things like this.

Sun Dragon Koi #3July 31, 2014 at 8:50 pm #916865Well, I am in the process of switching banks. Apparently something went through my families account (Dad owns a trailer park and an outrageous water bill pops up in the middle of summer) at the same bank and their account was overdrawn, so the bank took it upon themselves to overdraw my account to put some money into my families account (Didn’t cover the whole amount, so now BOTH accounts are overdrawn) They didn’t even try to tell us they were going to do this, and they have it in the justification of little more than “Get over it” because my name is on both accounts. I am beyond pissed, and I have to wait until my family is back in the green (If tenants pay rent on time – which never happens – will be tomorrow) to get my money back at all, we are all scraping the bottom of the barrel in cash just to get my auto insurance paid. – I never do automatic withdraw on bills, I like that I /need/ to look at what I am paying before it is paid… This is literally the case of the bank not giving a flying f*** about it’s customers, and doing whatever they want with money in accounts… So my dad is going to pay the overdraft charges for me, because he feels guilty because it was his account (ie his retarded tenants) that put this situation into action all together. and I feel really awful cause those over draft charges are going to stack up fast (4 so far at $33 a piece – The average price bring $15 or less on the actual charge) because I had NO idea the bank was even thinking of doing this. I feel AWFUL, and I don’t know what to do with them. I am seriously going to contact the BBB about this, my opinion is, lack of communication means the bank should be responsible for those over draft charges…
I will NEVER have two accounts with the same names on them in a single bank again. This is NOT ok. and anyone from Colorado, GTFO if you have 1st National Bank, they do NOT care about their customer base at all!
July 31, 2014 at 9:19 pm #916866I’m not sure that is legal. You would need to look at your bank’s policies and see if you signed paperwork agreeing to that. This is a very murky area. You should also check out local Credit Unions. They tend to pay a little better in intereste and have better customer service.

Sun Dragon Koi #3July 31, 2014 at 11:57 pm #916885Actually, it’s very legal. It’s in the fine print somewhere, trust me. Just as legal as one bank cleaning out of a daughter’s account because her mother blew through her money, her deceased husband’s savings and pension, and all her social security and savings (which she didn’t work a day in her life to earn)
Am I bitter? Just a little… and that was over a decade ago. >_< Believe me, they find a way to get their money one way or the other. Even two of my tax refunds were taken from me because of my mother when I was living with her. That was probably due to her own sleziness though, but nothing I could do about it in either case. I hate banks, I am old fashioned and keep most of my cash at home in a safe and only deposit enough to cover my bills and expenses. I figure, I'm more likely to get robbed by a bank then a thief.

Dreamscape, Orion, Poison Dart, Fireberry, Spangler + Tigerberry DragonsAugust 1, 2014 at 4:41 am #916909Sadly, Drag0n is right, they put it in some stupid fine print that I honestly never have even thought to look for (prior to this happening, I would have never imagined they’d do it. Hard lesson learned!!) – Apparently bank fraud is ok when the bank itself is doing it.
So I’m closing that account down completely and moving away from that bank (Even if they eventually tried to make it right – which they didn’t – I’d want nothing to do with them after the woman on the phone couldn’t have possibly cared less, and she worked for the branch that we go to all the time!) and have opened an account with a different bank that doesn’t have any other accounts of my families… So now I’m just hoping for better luck!I’m lucky that I didn’t get it nearly as bad as Drag0n’s experience! My dad didn’t know this could even happen, and he feels awful that bad timing on his account sent mine into this whirlwind of hell… He’s being very supportive and trying to his best to make it all ok again.
I still don’t quite grasp how the bank looked at this and went “There is X amount in account A. and account B is XX overdrawn… Account A’s balance won’t cover the overdraw on account B, but lets go ahead and make /both/ accounts overdrawn!” *grumble*
I’m definitely feeling how Drag0n does, I didn’t have to be worried about someone getting a hold of my info and stealing my money, the bank is far too happy to do it for me! I am going to have a ‘savings’ jar or something… tuck cash away and lean on my bank a LOT less, I’m hoping I’m much more secure at this new place, but I’ve been burned pretty bad on this one…
The massive silver lining… and only way I’m staying even remotely sane right now, my grandmother decided to send some surprise money, and that happened to show up in a nice lil “Thinking of you!” card today, and it put me back into a good position with funds again! Put that in the new account, so my old bank can kiss off cause they ain’t gettin any of this! Felt rather nice to know I can pay my insurance! She had no idea she was going to be saving my a**! lol, but I’d be in a whole different boat right now if it weren’t for her…
August 1, 2014 at 5:34 am #916913Wow, sorry to hear about all that Kaytana! You saw what I posted on facebook about paypal taking money out of my bank account for fees rather than my credit card and how I got charged a lovely $45 NSF fee? At least I didn’t lose as much as you but I hope your dad with will able to sort things out with the bank once he gets paid and he should refund you! That is perfect timing about your grandma sending you money though! I always try and think positively when things like this happen that there will be some way for me to pay my bills!
Guess what happened to us last week? I might as well rant while I can too! My mom and I were both sick with bronchitis for like two weeks but we didn’t find out until mine was almost gone and I took my mom to the doctor as hers wasn’t going away and she needed an antibiotic. Well before that, since July 1 we hadn’t been driving because my mom’s insurance and registration expired and we didn’t have enough money to pay it so we were waiting til my mom got her August disability money in to pay it. Well I needed to drive her to the doctor so we figured we would take a chance the one time. Of course with our luck, we got pulled over by a cop car on the way home from the doctor and they noticed we didn’t have updated registration and gave my mom a couple of tickets and towed our truck so we had to walk home. Well we first had to walk to the Drug Store to get her antibiotic and by the time we got out, buses weren’t running as it was late at night so it took us like 2 hours to walk home with my coughing the whole way and didn’t get home til 3 am! Luckily it wasn’t too cold but it was windy. So we didn’t have the money to get the truck out of the impound lot either as it was before the weekend and my mom’s money wouldn’t come in until Mon. So we finally had enough to get the insurance, registration and get the truck out of the impound lot on Tues. but by then we owed $275 for the tow fees and storage fees and after paying the insurance and registration as well, were were down like $600 in one day. Never mind the two tickets for over $200 each that my mom has to fight in court in August. So we owe our rent tomorrow of $1050 and my mom only has $600 left in her account. I am supposed to be getting in money to to help with the rent until I find work but I don’t know if it will be in tomorrow or not as it was based on a medical I had done at the doctor saying they didn’t think I could work for 6 months while I am being treated for depression and anxiety and the doctor didn’t mail the form until Mon. so I am not sure if they will get it by tomorrow or if I will be approved to get help with my rent. So we may have to tell the landlord the rent will be late. I am just hoping the money comes in tomorrow, otherwise instead of trying to trade my pieces, I may have to sell a few. All I could think was how if we had waited like one more week to go to the doctor that we never would have had to pay out so much money on the truck and fees but then again my mom’s health is more important so oh well. It’s just money right?

August 1, 2014 at 5:58 am #916914Oh goodness! 🙁 Sounds like we are both riding in the same type of boat… up a certain creek and no paddles *sigh* I am so sorry to hear about your troubles! I feel the pain greatly on the money side (obviously), heh… I hope the same *someone* watching out for me and my money woes comes around to help you out as well! <3
It really seems like it's something in the air lately with things just going wrong when they can, even when it makes no sense at all! And the being fee'd to death, gah! I don't understand the concept --You obviously don't have money to handle this, so lets tack on STUPID amounts of fee's to it, so you stand no chance at all to get out of the hole we're digging for you!-- it's like someone somewhere gets some cruel enjoyment out of others suffering...*hugs* I really hope you get that lil extra you need to sneak by for a lil longer!
August 1, 2014 at 11:50 am #916924Thanks Kaytana and I hope things get for you as well! I think we all need a bit of better luck right now! I have to call the government office today to see if they are going to help me with the rent so I just hope they got the medical forms in and don’t make me wait. Our one consolation is we have had to pay the rent late before and because our landlord is an older lady who’s easy going, she just tells us to deposit it at the bank and doesn’t usually check if it’s right on time or not. If she does ask I will just have to tell her I will pay my half as soon as possible. The next trick is figuring out how to pay the utilities by the end of the month. At least they aren’t as high now in the summer. I have a few pieces on ebay right now for anyone interested but have to figure out what else I can sell as well.
