I got 1. It timed out twice, I spent an hour refreshing and watching the wheel go around…but finally! And I remembered to ask for a fuzzy. Yay!
It took me about an hour also. First it took forever to get on, then each time I thought I put one in my cart it timed out, then I finally got one in my cart but couldn’t get to my cart to pay, then I finally got to my cart but couldn’t get to the check out page, then I got to the check out page but it wouldn’t let me pay, then I was able to click on PayPal and (several times) get through paying there, only to get back and have a timed out notice. I still don’t know that I got one, no proof from Windstone yet, but PayPal says I paid for one.
There’s got to be a better way to do this.

I have to admit I’m more than a bit frustrated. I had one in my cart, managed to get to PayPal twice despite the website crashing constantly, and hit the buy button only for it not to go through. The timer eventually expired, and I was never able to get another one in my cart. 5 hours for nothing…

I take it you did not get any confirmation from PayPal that your payment went through? That’s what I got, although I never got anything on the payment page at Windstone.

So…somehow I got through TWICE and so have contacted Windstone to let them know to set one free. All hope is not lost. Maybe others had this happen as well.

On Facebook somebody said that she never got a confirmation from the store so she kept trying. Then she checked Paypal and she had 10 pending transactions … Poor Susie will have to sort all this out!
I had the same experience. I had one in cart, timed out while attempting to get to the next step in order process. Got another one in cart, & after half hour, finally made it to the Paypal process, which returned me to Windstone with “gateway” error which I think is a timeout on the handshake process Paypal does with vendors. Then my cart time out again, and had to start the whole process again, waiting for one to fall out of a cart that likely was timed out too. Third attempt after nearly 2 hours finally succeeded. I had to do the Paypal thing multiple times until one finally took.
When compared with the Amazon’s & big retailers which handle million of transactions each minute, even small websites should be able to easily handle a few hundred transactions during sales. Windstone might want to consult with performance techies to find solutions. Once my order completed, I looked & it appeared that less than 400 people were trying to access the site. The site problems seem to be getting worse the more Windstone grows the business & attracts new buyers. But, if they have a bad experience trying to purchase, will they return? With those of us Windstone addicts, we do since we’ve not yet completed 10-step withdrawal.
It seems like I am not the only person who accidentally paid for more than one. I emailed Windstone, and Susie responded saying she would return the extra probably today. Therefore, if you missed out, put your name on the waitlist and check the store some today. Some more may show up.
I want one, and I may sound like a poor sport saying this, but I am not going through the same ordeal I spent hours going through yesterday with the store. I haven’t been this defeated since I tried to claim Bantam dragons on Kickstarter.
I never got confirmation from Windstone that my purchase went through, but PayPal now tells me mine has shipped. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed. There are a lot in the pictures that I like, but if I don’t love the one I get, I will put it up for trade or sale.

Some Koi colors would be easier for me to paint, but the fancy ones would probably be just as time-consuming as the fantasy ones.”

Since Koi colors are easier to paint, will they be less expensive?

I have never had a problem with checking out like I did this time! I was so upset that my credit card was charged so many times with nothing to show for it. Now I have to wait until my credit card company finds out that I wasn’t able to purchase one😭😭😭. I feel so defeated and sad.
