Thanks Sagi! 🙂
January 6, 2011 at 9:26 am #800063For those of you who saw the special preview of him on my Facebook, “Hubble” is now complete! I painted him in multiple colors while referencing a Hubble photo on my iPhone. Glow in the dark paint was applied to random stars, and I highlighted the brighter stars with my airbrush. He has metallic periwinkle glass eyes and a blue zircon tail jewel. In his paw he holds a heart shaped prism with matching beads in aurora borealis colors. The stars really look like they are glowing, both in low light, indoor and outdoor light. I’m still amazed at how this guy turned out. No photoshopping was done on these photos save for the usual level adjustment. He is definitely one of my all time favorites. 🙂
“Hubble” is already sold, but I may accept several commissions for a few more “Hubble” Keepers depending on how many requests are made. Otherwise only one other will be made to keep for myself. Thanks for looking!
January 6, 2011 at 9:35 am #800064Wow, too cool MG!! I am actually working on a Keeper right now that has stars on him 😆 I swear I’m not copying you!!
Hubble is amazing, and you’re right, the stars really look like they’re glowing!
Edit: I just showed this to my BF (because I make him look at everything ) and I realized that this guy reminds me of christmas lights 🙂 Were you inspired by Christmas while you were painting him? He really looks to me like.. this is going to sound silly, but when I was little I would lay or sit under the christmas tree and watch the lights glowing against the wall – he reminds me of that, it’s a nice memory 🙂
Commission spots are currently closed! Please message me for details.

Thanks so much Yeral! 🙂 I hadn’t thought of Christmas as I was painting him, but I can definitely see that after you mentioned it! I remember staring at the glow of the lights as well, mesmerized at how pretty the colors were. There really is something magical about it! Thanks for sharing your memory. 🙂
