Whoa! 😮 This one is truly going to be a stunner! Two thumbs up!

If you post a pic of your scarab stone, some of us rock hounds may be able to ID it for you. 8)

I’m really digging the wings! The spots sounded odd at first, but now I love them! He’s really starting to pull together and work, that’s going to be one treasured griffin!
Wasn’t the rock blue with white striations? Could it be sodalite? Or maybe lapis?
Don’r know a whole lot about rocks, but sodalite is one you can use in aquariums, it’s dark blue usually with calcareous white striations in it and can be polished.

I am speechless WSC! He isn’t even done and he looks so amazing! I will say we were on the same page with this griffin 😀 I am going to Egypt in October 🙂 I think I will have to get you a papyrus painting with Anubis 😉

I had to go back and check when you were going to Egypt! I want to make sure he is at your home before then…Hoping to get him done really soon! 😀

There is no rush! I know better than to rush an artist at work 😀

Ok here are the pics of the next step on the Anubis Griffin. I took a shot of the top of his head too. It was semi-cloudy out, but it did photo well. 🙂
I am headed downstairs now to grab up the brushes and work a bit more today.

Well, Anubis is finally finished. All but his stones. 😀
I went to Chicago today to the Shedd Aquarium, so I haven’t had the chance to get pics yet. Tomorrow we have family fun day which is all about the fishing! So I will get some pics up of him and all his glory on Saturday!

                  The suspense builds…. 😈

                    Oh I can hardly wait!
Oh WSC you should go to the field museum in Chicago! I went their when they had the King Tut exhibit a few years ago. They have an amazing amount of Egyptian antiquities. Also the The Oriental Institute is absolutely amazing! I hope to get my internship there at that museum. I hope after this Egypt field study I will be accepted at the The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago *Crosses fingers*

Windstonecollector that is a fantastic bit of painting you did there. I am amazed how much it really reminds me of Anubis. GriffinLover is very lucky to get that one! 🙂

Just wanted to applaud you on the fine job!
