If you post a pic of your scarab stone, some of us rock hounds may be able to ID it for you. 8)

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmAugust 7, 2009 at 12:51 am #760976I’m really digging the wings! The spots sounded odd at first, but now I love them! He’s really starting to pull together and work, that’s going to be one treasured griffin!
Wasn’t the rock blue with white striations? Could it be sodalite? Or maybe lapis?
Don’r know a whole lot about rocks, but sodalite is one you can use in aquariums, it’s dark blue usually with calcareous white striations in it and can be polished.August 8, 2009 at 2:30 am #760977Griffinlover wrote:I am speechless WSC! I had to go back and check when you were going to Egypt! I want to make sure he is at your home before then…Hoping to get him done really soon! 😀

August 14, 2009 at 3:35 pm #760985Oh I can hardly wait!
Oh WSC you should go to the field museum in Chicago! I went their when they had the King Tut exhibit a few years ago. They have an amazing amount of Egyptian antiquities. Also the The Oriental Institute is absolutely amazing! I hope to get my internship there at that museum. I hope after this Egypt field study I will be accepted at the The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago *Crosses fingers*August 15, 2009 at 1:24 am #760986Windstonecollector that is a fantastic bit of painting you did there. I am amazed how much it really reminds me of Anubis. GriffinLover is very lucky to get that one! 🙂
Just wanted to applaud you on the fine job!
