Comet is such a cutie !!
September 2, 2019 at 9:10 am #1578441Thank you everyone for your kind comments on the piece! I just finished another of these small dragons over the weekend too.
This one is called Supernova and I based it around the super colorful photos of nebulas. It’s a mix of Sparks paint over a black base with a glittery glossy top coat. My camera makes it look kind of flat but irl it’s more of a shiny metallic oil slick and very beautiful in natural sunlight.

Finished another dragon over the weekend. Its name is Nebula and it’s the same Sparks paint as before, but over a white base instead of black.
The color is a bit stronger in the photos than irl. It’s been too cloudy to go outside and take more accurate photos.
There is glitter mixed into its topcoat but the camera just kind of blurred it all together.
The piece of star glitter which family or group it’s from, since I plan on painting quite a few of them. This one will be heading off to a friend soon.
And just for comparison…
Black base vs white base!
September 9, 2019 at 6:26 pm #1579401These are very cute! You say they’re a type of PYO, not original sculpts? I especially like the last one, with the Sparks color over a white base. Love the antennae on Supernova though. And a clever idea with the little star!

DemiurgusDreams
Fantasy and animal sculpture by Evgeny Hontor.September 10, 2019 at 3:30 am #1579427Thank you pipsxlch.:) Yes they’re PYO’s from the seller etruscan wrote, DemiurgusDreams. I like their size and simple design; makes them easy to paint in a short time.
September 10, 2019 at 3:38 am #1579428They are so cool!! They remind me of fairy dragons! Super cute, and nice paint job too!

September 10, 2019 at 6:25 pm #1579489Thank you! These dragons are really cute (much nicer irl than what my camera can capture) and I highly recommend them.
September 14, 2019 at 12:07 pm #1579824I found a paint that might be interesting for some people… it’s called Dragonfly Glaze Color Changing Top Coat. Very fine holographic glitter in a top coat medium. It’s really nice and I haven’t seen it before today so it’s at least a newer product.
Tried it out on some test colors (black, white, blue, and red) and it shows up the best with a black or dark-colored background.Again, just in case anybody is interested in checking out something new for their pieces.
September 14, 2019 at 5:54 pm #1579841I just saw that, in several different colors, at Hobby Lobby! I didn’t buy it yet, thanks for letting us know it works!
September 18, 2019 at 2:14 pm #1580147Awww, you found a cute little dragon hatching from its egg! The temptation to just walk up and carry it away is overwhelming, but you get the feeling its mother is watching you very carefully…
Made this from a garage figure kit, a cut-up plastic tree, and some gravel I grabbed from the driveway out front. The mother isn’t finished just yet because I need to find some rocks to hide her base but she will eventually join her baby.
The figures are very small and detailed but either have a gaudy base or just can’t stay up on their own, so I attached this one to a rock and filled in space with tiny gravel pieces to give it size and stability.
