Just looks like someone glued a marble to the top of the staff is all 🙂 I used to think a marble belonged there, but I guess it’s supposed to be empty..?
After looking at the picture at astralcastle.com, I would say that someone has put a small red “stone” on top of the staff and replaced the faceted crystal with a smaller blue “stone”.
I had thought that, too. then the picture quality threw me and it doesn’t look like he has as much detail on his robe and chanin than the other guy. If he’s not a fake or knock off he’s been messed-with, gem-wise. Thanks for the insights.

According to all the photos on astral castle, yes it’s supposed to be empty and the blue globe is supposed to be a clear crystal.
I think the small wizard has a crystal on the top of his staff. Thanks for looking at it.

There is also the very, very remote possibility that it is some sort of test piece. Blue was the first color the large wizard was ever released in. Melody might know if they were ever given colored marbles on purpose.

Would this be classified as keyword spamming? It sorta seems to me that it was not necessary to add “NOT Windstone Editions” to the description other than to draw it into a Windstone Editions Search.

I’m not sure, anymore. I think it’s poor form, but I am biased by knowing the trouble they cause Windstone. You might want to write to John, or direct him here, so that we’re all clear on it (if there is anything to be clear on, that is).

Yes, please email John! I think where we ended up on the repaint policy is:
1.) We can’t do anything about repaints. Windstones are produced in too high of a volume for the protections that apply to artwork to kick in, unless…
2.) The repaint mimics a Windstone paint scheme. That violates trade dress and has its own separate rules
However, posting photos of repaints, selling repaints, or soliciting repaint commissions is against the _forum_ policy, so while we can’t stop them on ebay, please don’t do it here! (Not directed a the ebay links question! Just a reminder to anyone who does repaint to not talk about it/show it off on the forum!:) )
