I’m pretty certain that’s a fake. It could potentially be a repaint…but I’m leaning more towards fake. The eye sockets look wrong to me.
April 23, 2012 at 7:52 pm #878726Yup, I’m sorry to say I think you have a fake. Be it one of the more impressive ones I have seen. I have one very much like this myself or the same sculpture. I used it for airbrush practice

April 24, 2012 at 1:41 am #878744Amstaff, what is on the bottom of that dragon?
April 24, 2012 at 5:49 am #878763Susie… the bottom, on the base, looks to be a layer of glue and remains of a sticker that was once there.
And 4dragonlove….. Im not sure I understand what you mean, the space between his wings and body ?
Either way, Im pretty sure this is a fake, I just dont understand how some companies can get away with making replicas like this.
Oh… and this is what I can make out on the bottom….. but it is kinda sloppy so another reason I think its fake. The year is too messy to make out :
April 24, 2012 at 7:49 am #878765Actually, I think I am wrong here. I don’t own this particular sculpt, but my sister-in-law does and she says her wings “touch” the body underneath as well. My impression was that the wings were more “cut out” and away from the body. I’m going to have to look again next time I’m at her house! 🙂
April 24, 2012 at 7:51 am #878762I also notice that in the picture it seems as if there is no space between his wings and body. There should be a definite space there, instead of just painted.
Edit: As I state later, I think I am wrong here. I misspoke, sorry. 🙁
April 24, 2012 at 1:12 pm #878767Amstaff, that is a fake for sure.. I am sorry! Why do people rip Windstone off? Usually it’s just for money. Money makes people do ugly things.

May 5, 2012 at 10:11 pm #879843It looks to me like the whole thing is recast. The eyes are solid and so is the gem. They are all a part of the statue as a whole. I think it is pretty suspect too!
May 5, 2012 at 11:28 pm #879848Definitely fake. Windstones don’t have big holes in the bottom ;/
May 6, 2012 at 3:47 pm #879906aha I was about to post that golden fake but you beat me to it :3
May 9, 2012 at 12:34 am #880090Yeah, its pretty bad. Kinda looks like they removed the pad on the bottom and just spray painted it without cleaning it and such.
May 9, 2012 at 2:10 am #880100Repaint I think .
