Does anyone else think this looks enough like the mother dragon to be a fake? It seems like there are more and more of them showing up on eBay lately.

June 18, 2008 at 7:14 pm #708439Yeah, I think this one got posted before. And yes, they just keep getting uglier and uglier… 😕
June 21, 2008 at 6:47 am #708440I found a couple, they guy says they are resin, and the colors are ALL WRONG on them…. Fakes? They are listed as Windstones, but one is orange and the other is a really flat green color. Anyone agree? I asked a few questions regarding the colors, but no response.

The colors look a little off due to the photo lighting, but other than that, they look fine.
Some people don’t know the difference between resin, gypsum, porcelain, etc. I wouldn’t say they are fakes because of that.
June 21, 2008 at 2:41 pm #708442I thought they were genuine. The colors actually look similar to my brown and green hatchers…I think they’re old ones.
June 21, 2008 at 4:59 pm #708443The one just looked waaaay to orange to be the old brown, but it could have just been the lighting. The egg and the base were perfect looking though. The green I figured was just the lighting. Figured I’d ask the experts round here.
June 21, 2008 at 5:29 pm #708444They are definitely genuine.
The color is due to the lighting when they took the picture.
Thanks for asking, you never know unless you ask. 😉June 21, 2008 at 8:06 pm #708445Ok. If you don’t ask, then ones that are might go… and I am by NOOOO means an expert.
June 22, 2008 at 5:04 pm #708446This one looks like a fake.
I do like the markings, though. 😀
June 22, 2008 at 5:43 pm #708447He looks like that other one that was posted earlier, except white with little markings. I wonder if this place in Australia is making a bunch of knockoffs.
June 26, 2008 at 1:57 am #708448I found a fake at a flower shop in a town about 30 minutes from me.
It a copy of the Roaring Sentinel Gargoyle: https://www.windstoneeditions.com/shop/product.php?productid=8&cat=7&page=1I took a picture with my phone and then took a picture of the phone with my camera since I can’t download from my phone.
I reported it to John. 😉 FAKEGenuineJune 27, 2008 at 11:45 pm #708449June 27, 2008 at 11:49 pm #708450Nah…I think it’s the lighting when they took the picture. Sometime depending on the surrounding colors and the lighting, the surounding colors can reflect on the item.
I’ve notice this from experience. 😉
And it can be very frustrating at times. 😆June 27, 2008 at 11:52 pm #708451actually, for such a bad pic, it makes it almost look like a Goof-Up edition!! 😉
June 28, 2008 at 12:45 am #708452Yes it does! Wouldn’t that be nice? 😀
