December 8, 2007 at 5:41 pm #643067here ski:
I do not have a ruby male, other wise i would have taken a photo of him, but this might show what the comparison looks like? What do you say wolf lodge, since you have seen the two colors in person next to one another?
Reds are harder to photograph, they may be VERY different but the camera is making them look the same.
To me, the Fire has more of a deep brick type red and the ruby a pinkier red. I know that wolf lodges camera defiantly did not catch a lot of the important coloration of the two pieces.
December 8, 2007 at 5:43 pm #643068I wonder if there is any way to convince Melody to put a red fire ow in production before christmas? My husband wants to know what I want and I really want one of these guys in this color. 😉
December 8, 2007 at 5:44 pm #643069Since day 1 I have ALWAYS felt that the Ruby Dragons where way to pink to be Ruby especially the Emperor in Ruby

hmm…well if you’ve ever seen real rubies….you’d see that most of them really are pink more than red….
only fake or really really really old rubies are actually dark red….

lol. I think it looks good on the lap. I love my ruby lap…but there are some pieces that i was not too fond of. it is a pretty girly color with where the pink is placed.

I wear a real ruby every day since it’s my birthstone and in a ring I have made about 16 years ago and now 2 since my mom passed away and I’m now also wearing her Mothers ring and I have noticed that they seem to change color. Especially mine. It get lighter and almost see thru and then some times it’s a very dark red.My main point was that I did not realy care for the pink on the rubies. I know that a Garnet is darker all the way around

The ones listed on eBay have a signature and magic invisible paint.

To me, the main color looks the same. Almost like the red fire dragon pictured was once a ruby dragon. Look at the bottom of the tail by the base, the shoulder, the hip, the side scales; They look like the same color.
December 9, 2007 at 8:30 am #643078Wow…I’ve always despised the little hatching dragon…but I actually kinda want to buy one in this color!

yup, i know what you mean. in wolf lodges photo he looks like a repaint where they just painted the gold over the pinks on a ruby 🙂
December 9, 2007 at 4:36 pm #643080The reds look the same to me now too. But I LOVE the Fire ones with orange eyes and highlights
