Um…I don’t know. I think we decided it to be a once or twice a year kind of thing, but it’s really up to whoever feels up to one I suppose.

I think we sort of agreed on one in the summer and one in the winter. So the next one should be July, August – something like that. I hope.

Wow indeed! That kirin is too beautiful, Arlla! It must have taken a lot of patience and care to paint the scales and leave the white lining. Or did you antique in white?

LOL I missed this question the first time round…Yes, I antiqued with white, using the paper towel method! It actually came out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT the first time I did it…but then I seriously gouged the paint somehow and had to strip it and do it over…it’s not as perfect this time round. 🙁 But I think it still looks pretty good!

all I do now is the paper towel method….I tried sponges or rags…

a wet paper towel works better than anything else for me….

I swear the finger method works great. Paper towels always end up peeling the paint off of of my scales, even when I barely touch the piece. At least on one or two tiny spots, which COMPLETELY ruins the whole thing when you repaint it because you can see the recessed area the paint was peeled. You have to redo the whle scale! ARGH! I HATE THAT!

ha! i like using my fingers too! thats my method of choice! it gets a little messy plus you have to watch where you put those dirty fingers afterwards,(no nose picking or eye rubbing, lol) but boy does it yield the most consistent results! paper towels sometimes miss stuff, or take off too much i think, but it works in easy areas.

well I use my finger when I need to….but the paper towel never has messed mine up….

I always let everything dry for a day or two before antiquing though….because things can peel when you don’t let it dry enough…

I might have to touch up one or two tiny spots…but usually don’t have any problems…
