I used to work at fort erie racetrack actually, and at woodbine. You can’t get on the backstretch near the horses without a licence. At fort erie you can go right up to the track though and take pictures of them going around or coming back, just not walking around in the barns. Woodbine is more of a pain because the dirt track is on the inside so you can’t see the horses as well. I’m not sure if you can get near woodbine’s training track though. Or “baker’s acres” which is a foresty trail they have at woodbine.
Not that I haven’t done it before, I used to take pictures at both tracks all the time! I’m actually visiting home this weekend so I might try and get to fort erie, the season is almost over after all! There’s definitely been times at woodbine where we’ve driven by to see who the security guard is, if it’s someone nice we can try. They often just wave you through without paying attention. Worth a try right?
I went to lexington last november to see the farms and go to the breeder’s cup, and I have been to lexington a few times previously. This last time I had a new camera and took a ton of photos of the stallions and such. I always find it inspiring to look through them but it’s not quite the same as seeing the horses in person. 🙂

Really?! I also worked at Woodbine for just under a year, way back when I wanted to become a jockey! I was enrolled in the equestrian program at Humber College.
October 4, 2011 at 7:57 pm #859154Humber has an equestrian program? That’s awesome! I worked there in 2003, 2004, and a bit in 2005 I guess, I was really young (14 or 15) and just did hotwalking and extra tasks. I did pony riding at fort erie racetrack though 🙂 Who’d you work for at woodbine?
October 5, 2011 at 2:42 am #859189Humber has an equestrian program?
It did almost 25 years ago anyway! 😉
Edit: It seems that the Equine Studies Program was abandonned in 1994, everything that could be, was auctionned off, and the buildings were bulldozed into a parking lot. I can’t remember exactly where the Equestrian Centre was, but I remember that, cutting through the back fields, we could walk to Woodbine Centre as well as to the racetrack.

OMG, it was so long ago, I really don’t remember. I also did A LOT of hotwalking and mucking out stalls and just a little bit of exercise riding.
I don’t have any pictures from the track, but I do have some from Humber, if I can find them I’ll post a couple.
October 5, 2011 at 4:33 pm #859233Ohh I’d love to see some pictures from Humber! 🙂
Here’s a few new photos for you guys.
I did some nicer shots of the palomino for WolfenMachine:
And then I have another that I posted in the non-windstone fleamarket, she’s a dapple grey arabian.
She’s on ebay right now, bidding starts at 99 cents with free shipping! 🙂 The auction is here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320767651023#ht_15695wt_1040
October 15, 2011 at 6:54 pm #860193Dear Lord lady :jawdrop:! Your sculpts never cease to amaze me. Your photograpy of them is wonderful to. You really captured there personality and their soul.
November 20, 2011 at 4:36 am #863173I feel like I haven’t added to this thread in ages! I blame school, it’s taking up all my time, rawr. I have for you several cool and interesting things!
First off is a commission I finally finished. The person contacted me at the beginning of august and I added them to the list, but they couldn’t pay until the end of august when I closed commissions so she got started right around the time I started school. Anyway so needless to say I was super slow in getting her done! More than 3 months, yeesh. She was, fortunately, the last thing on my commission list.
ALSO I took a video of the hairing process for her. I am trying to do more with video. Video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llcMHoLcrfg
Photos of the commission:
And then, I have new photos of these two guys. I made them sometime last year (December or january 2011) and have had them in my etsy store but they remain unsold. My dad came to kingston a few weekends ago so I took them out for some random photos. I also took a video of them, because I had just bought this little digital camera and wanted to videotape everything 😛 So here are those photos. Both these guys are still for sale, they’re super cheap. Soooo check ’em out if you’re interested: http://www.etsy.com/shop/scenceable
First is cynosure:
And then there’s Chryssipus…
<img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac81/evanescenceable/Chryssipus/chrys3.jpg"
The video of them is here: http://youtu.be/uBasM_QScB8 it shows how their bases work and about how big they are.
I kind of want them out of my house which is why I listed them cheap, so following that, I'd definitely be willing to trade them for windstones.
ALSOOOO I have a few weeks off during the holidays (Dec 15-Jan 9) and am debating on either doing a few commission slots or trades or something. I can't wait!
Thanks for looking!
Edit: ohh I forgot to mention, I went on a social media joining rampage a few weeks ago, I'm now active in a whole bunch of random places. I have this list of places you can find me. Honestly everything is on the facebook page, but it's fun to chat elsewhere too 😛 Especially tumblr, I don't have very many friends on there, if you have a tumblr let me know so I can follow you! 😀

Bad timing for me 🙁
But I will commission a Ki-rin from you eventually!
November 20, 2011 at 5:37 pm #863203Thanks Kiya!
LIH I am taking a year off of school starting in may so should have a lot of time to work on commissions and things like that then! 🙂
December 22, 2011 at 12:26 am #866725Hey guys, I got a webcam today and am going to be streaming some sculpting! The stream will be live around 8pm tonight, EST. I am going to be working on sculpting a few kirins.
Hopefully this will be the first of many streams! 🙂 The link is here: http://www.livestream.com/quequinoxart hope to see you there!
December 22, 2011 at 3:33 pm #866837I could only watch for a few minutes, but it was neat! 🙂
December 22, 2011 at 6:04 pm #866848Thanks guys, I will be doing another at 4pm today, likely with sound off to avoid the annoying people coming in and yelling into the mic. 😛
December 23, 2011 at 9:21 pm #867037Will be streaming again (again!?) tonight at 5pm, in half an hour. Will probably go for 2-4 hours depending on who is around. People are going out so I’ll be able to keep the mic on, so feel free to ask questions! Link: http://www.livestream.com/quequinoxart
January 14, 2012 at 4:01 am #869082Will be doing a livestream of painting and hairing tomorrow (saturday january 14th) at 3pm EST. It will probably be fairly long. Working on a white and tan kirin mare, should be fun! 😀
