Hey, folks, this is the hippocampus I commissioned from Landipan for my daughter. I have had her for months, but didn’t want to post her until after my daughter opened her on Christmas morning. Isn’t she GORGEOUS! I cannot say enough about the beautiful work Landipan does – her attention to detail is amazing and if you are considering commissioning something from her you will not regret it. She takes a lot of time making sure what she is doing is what you want. (This has been an unpaid endorsement. 😉 )

Aw, thank you Melody!!! I’m still so happy you’re happy with her! it was really fun to paint a more sandy rock base on this sculpt, I’d like to do another one like that eventually. I’m super pleased to have this one on my resume!

He started out as something completely different, but I realized that the pattern I was doing was looking too ‘busy’ for my eye and decided to change my idea completely! So now this guy is all decked out in dark teals/greens/blues/yellows! He’s still got a long way to go but his front half is nearly done.
I’ve also dubbed him ‘Doukustu’ which is Japanese for ‘cavern’, as I imagine this guy would feel quite content in some deep dark quiet cave. it’s also useful for me to memorize some new Japanese vocab!
My apologies for the terrible cell phone quality pic, it was the best I had on hand lol! ;~;

I’m still working on my dragon in short bursts, unfortunately it’s slow going right now due to my best,handy dandy , go-to Kolinsky brush that I use for nearly all detail work has really been worn down after painting all my the PYOs I’ve done! This is my first experience with how rough Gypsum can be on brushes lol. So now I’m using the ‘B team’ of my brushes, it’s takes a bit of getting use to after being spoiled by better quality brushes!

Not currently open for PYO commissions.Just added the final coat of sealer to this lil fox!! He’s a very dark cross fox, he’s actually darker in real life(Well, in indoor lighting that is..) than in these photos, natural daylight make’s him seem a little lighter than normal. I like him, he didn’t come out exactly as I hoped, but I like him none the less! Though I think I definitely need to make it a plan to paint more lighter colored Kitsune, All the ones I’ve done so far are black and grey basically XD.
I’ve named him ‘Dusk’ for now, he’ll be up for sell in the coming days for anyone interested in seeing more photos!

I got my preferred brushes from DickBlick early today!(anyone notice that DB now has cheaper shipping, atleast on a small order? I just now noticed!) So I’m going to finish my dragon this week and fight against any procrastinating desires!! But I won’t have eyes for him for several more weeks, but dag nabbit he’ll be finished with his paintjob this week!

"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"Thank you guys! I like trying to get the fur texture to look as if it’d be soft to the touch, sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the effort, but I really like the end result. I swear by my Kolinsky brushes for this technique!
