I believe that Bodine is in the area affected by strong storms and tornadoes today and tonight. To her and anyone else being threatened by the weather – stay safe!

March 18, 2021 at 7:34 am #1638660Something like 21 tornadoes across the south last night, and storm front is moving east so southeastern states under threat today. Storms are putting 30 million people under watch. Stay safe all!
April 10, 2021 at 5:14 am #1639642We got hammered last night.MsClain’s,a nice country rest/bar/wild animal refuge, got a tornado hit.I couldn’t help but grin imagining seeing camels and emus trucking down the highway. It was at night,no one got hurt that we know of.
This is my back yard.Arnold,my neighbors pet pig almost got flooded.Every act matters. No matter how small💞

April 22, 2021 at 4:31 am #1640092Yep,’tis the season. We seem to have gotten a “sweet spot”.The worst weather jumps around us.Same way at my old place.Hurr.Katrina took out coastlines and lived 5miles from the Gulf.We didn’t have standing water though over 100 trees in the neighborhood bit the dirt.May we stay safe.
HAPPY EARTH DAY!Be kind to her.She is our home.💖💐🌈🌿🍀🌴🌰🌼🐬🐞🐎🐅🐝Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.May 6, 2021 at 5:50 am #1641049Bodine, Glad you are safe & didn’t get hit by the tornado. I love watching storms so tornado season for me is an exciting time of the year. Back in 2015, the lake where my parents have a summer home got hit by a tornado, but the most striking thing was that the tornado hit some park models precisely while jumping over others next door.
This picture show how the park model was blown to bits, but the one next door was untouched. Striking that the only thing standing was the picnic table on their deck.

May 6, 2021 at 11:42 am #1641077Thanks y’all😍
Grandpa Byrd lost his military cap with all his military pins on it.Never saw him without it.He had a doc appt.and it was exactly when the tornado passed over.He said he opened the car door, the wind grabbed his door and slung it open on him almost breaking his frail arm,95yrs.old,and snatched his hat off at the same time.Nothing they could do.Gone with the wind.
We had a close scare like that one Mary.Tornado moved the house next door a little, split the one next to it in half and blew their sat.dish in our yard but didn’t touch us.No train sound, just a very loud roar! I just set down on the bed when it woke me up and told Bodinetoo,We’re dead….but we sooo lucked out and got 0 damage.Note to self: get picnic table and next time go hide under it.😂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.May 6, 2021 at 11:54 am #1641079I live in tornado alley (southwest burbs of Chicago) and one of my friends who lives in the town next door to me, had tornado touch down while his wife was getting ready for work and her daughter heard the roar of train, wife looked outside and saw it was bright and sunny & finished getting ready to leave for work, and then when she walked outside, house across the street was demolished to the ground, jumped over a house, and hit the one next to it. I guess it shows if you’re lucky and its not your time to go, don’t worry.
Too bad about your grandpa’s military medals. Maybe you can find him a replacement on ebay? There’s tons of military patches & medals from estate sales with all the elderly people passing.
May 6, 2021 at 12:47 pm #1641091That’s not a bad idea thanks.I doubt he will be ok about it though. It broke his heart. He earned them.Until 2 years ago he would stand outside waving his flag on a busy highway here every 4th of July and every military acknowledgement day in the year.Very patriotic.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.May 6, 2021 at 3:05 pm #1641096Your grandfather might be able to request replacements for his medals from the military.
My Dad was upset about the design of the World War II Memorial – he says it looks as though Germany won the war – and he sent his medals to Congress with a letter protesting the plans. He may have gotten some of them replaced but I’m not sure. -
