March 1, 2011 at 8:49 pm #836209My blank came in today. I should have mine done before the end of the weekend.
March 2, 2011 at 6:34 am #836210WAH! :shout: I had mine almost done, I was SO proud of it!! I took it outside to spray seal it and the can was bad!!!! I sprayed little bits of rust all over it!!!!! π₯ I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAN!! π‘ I have to start all over with a new PYO (I guess I should test my sealer before I use it on my masterpiece, huh?). Oh, well  I painted some areas black that probably would’ve looked better white, so now is my chance to improve it! π
March 2, 2011 at 4:37 pm #836211How awful! I’m soooo sorry!

March 2, 2011 at 7:21 pm #836212Can you not strip the PYOs? Of their paint, that is. π And then start over? Or does the paint become a part of the piece? Since that first coat usually soaks in pretty well.
Whereas a Breyer horse, you can strip the paint off or sand it down (I know windstones have a lot of detail) and start anew.

March 2, 2011 at 7:48 pm #836213I never tried to strip a PYO. Since I only have a month left, it’s probably best to start over. Maybe version 2 will turn out even better than the first! π
March 2, 2011 at 10:57 pm #836214You could try to remove the bad parts with warm water or with careful (really careful!) use of acetone, then retouch those parts. I’d try fixing before starting over for sure. Then if that fail, go with a new one, no? It just depends if there’s any damage with removing part of the paint.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

March 5, 2011 at 1:34 am #836216Finally my guy is half way done!…. π I’ve been working on him over the last few days and I have had some really late nights! π

March 6, 2011 at 4:10 am #836217I was hoping for time to paint today, but the day was eaten up by my niece’s birthday party. No real time to paint tomorrow either as I have to pick up my son from visiting his father this weekend. π
March 6, 2011 at 6:07 am #836218after deciding on one skulpt…. i painted a base coat…. and was happy…. a day or two later i looked and it with a little contempt….the next day after i whined at kioshi saying ” WHY IS IT SOOO UGGLY?! D:”… so i tried redoing the base coat ….the day after that i looked at koishii and said “do you want this? because man it’s damn uuuuuugly” T_T and she loooked and went “It’s perfect :D”
so then i sat down with a different skulpt and painted a new base coat and now i am happy π
