I need to get them together for a family pic. I still owe you guys lots of pics from my ebay wins, just very little time and on the days I do have time bad weather. 🙄 But I will make an effort to get a family pic.

Sun Dragon Koi #3September 11, 2008 at 9:45 am #683706Congratulations Setsunawolf on the Koi-Rin!
September 12, 2008 at 11:53 pm #683707^^ I got a damaged dark ruby young oriental ^^
I love the darker reds. I know they don’t hold up well because my dark red fledgling’s paint is “pooling” on the scales, but I still love the darker reds.
Isn’t he cute? ^^
September 14, 2008 at 5:04 am #683708He *is* cute! The baby orientals are just all kinds of adorable mischief. Any plans to get his little tail repaired?
September 14, 2008 at 5:26 am #683709Very cute, I prefer the dark reds myself. What do you mean by the paint is “pooling on the scales”? I don’t think I’ve seen that so I’m curious.
September 14, 2008 at 6:26 am #683710Eeeee! My three PYO’s arrived! Unicorn, Ki Rin, and Griffin, hanging out with the Fuzzy. Partially-painted ‘Griffykins’ is in the background watching from the corner of his eye. Overexposed photo, but will work.
It was funny, I looked at the new Griffin compared to my older fellow, and was momentarily horrified that I appeared to have obscured so much feather crispness when painting. But then looked a bit closer and realized the feather sculpting was a tiny bit different. It seems that Griffykins is one of the soft feather sculpts. Very nice thing to confirm. 😀
September 14, 2008 at 7:55 pm #683711Yay more PYO’s… I got mine yesterday and have already painted one, and am working on the second (technically I started the second one first…).
September 16, 2008 at 5:48 am #683712Haha, that griffin in the background looks rather envious.

Eventually. He displays just fine as he is at the moment. I’ll wait until Kirin gets her mountain finished and starts taking her 5 customers at a time. They are so adorable 😀 I need a blue one, and I’d LOVE to have a gold one <3 <3 and a koi…hmmm

I can try and get a picture of it. It looks like the paint slowly dripped down to the bottom edge of each scale and pooled there. The scales are the lighter red on top, and the dark thick red on the bottom.
sorry about the poor picture, but I have crappy lighting at the moment and my camera doesn’t like close ups. I also couldn’t figure out how to turn the flash off, it washed out a lot of the pretty darker red and made it super bright red.
Those dark edges down towards the butt, that’s where the paint has sort of collected. It’s the worst on those areas, but it’s also on almost all the side scales, leg scales, tail scales, in the ears, and the chest is a very dark dark red, almost black on the left side and it looks like it had red glitter in the paint. I’ve got a weird one 😛 I’ll try and get better pictures tomorrow with the sun out.September 17, 2008 at 5:52 am #683714Leigha wrote:I can try and get a picture of it. Thank you for taking the time to photograph him, Leigha. From your description and the picture, I think I can see what you mean. Huh, that is weird! Very interesting. He’s beautiful even still 🙂September 17, 2008 at 8:26 am #683715bah, totally forgot to take pictures of him
