Lol, don’t be sorry!! I blame the colors for not being opaque enough 🙂 It definitely feels like I achieved something though, and that’s a wonderful feeling!

May 14, 2011 at 2:59 am #845279I’m just loving the effect on the shoulder scales! Imagine an entire keeper painted that way…
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmMay 14, 2011 at 3:10 am #845282He’s pretty. I agree with dragonmedly on the shoulder scales. I think they really add a lot of depth to the coloration that wouldn’t be as evident without that gradient/blending on the individual scales in that location.
May 14, 2011 at 3:22 am #845284Thanks very much everyone 🙂
A Keeper done with all the scales in that same technique on the shoulder would be awesome!! It would take forever though XD

Unfortunately these didn't come out any richer. Maybe drag0n can take some good outdoor pics for me when she gets it XD

I currently am working on a piece for a trade with scenceable but after that last dragon I really needed to get some creative jitterbugs out – I don’t know what else to call it, but often when I’m feeling less than inspired I just go nuts on something totally new and it refreshes me artistically 🙂 That’s what this fellow is the result of. I also wanted to experiment with striping since I will be working on a Velociraptor Keeper in the coming weeks 🙂
The pictures really dont show off his colors very well – I included some that were taken with a flash at the end and those show the colors the best, but every time I took a picture with flash some part (or most of it) was out of focus, so I’ve just included it as a color reference.
His name is Gun, for no good reason other than that he has some gunmetal grey on him and that I was watching Trigun at the time that I painted him XD
He has dark brown eyes (that were purchased from Tohickon Glass, they are not Windstone eyes) and a Champagne colored Swarovski Crystal in his tail. He holds a dyed bone pendant in his upraised paw.
This guy is for sale! Please check my thread in the Flea Market if you’re interested 🙂
Indoor, no flash:
Indoor, with flash: (BEST representation of his colors)

May 15, 2011 at 1:42 am #845336Hehe, thank you Stephanie!! I was thinking the same thing, he’s probably the most brute or “manly” dragon I’ve done – even the Zombie Keepers have had some subtle purples and pinks to soften the scheme. Maybe that’s another good reason for naming him Gun – it’s a manly name! XD
