http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmJanuary 10, 2014 at 4:43 am #907610These look totally awesome in person. I love the birch tree branches in the background. I think this one is better than the first, there is like more detail in the background, and it is like more blended in the colors.
I can’t wait to see the other when it is done, if you look at it from the right angle, you can kinda see a flower…lol just kidding, it looks great.
She needs to paint more, I can’t wait to see what she does on the big canvas I found.
January 15, 2014 at 1:03 am #907763Strange, it won’t let me edit my previous post. Here is another small update:

Anyways, I am finished with the first butterfly, this painting is Sold.
EDIT****
oh and #1 and #2 together, to show progress i guess..<img src="https://scontent-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/1555445_10200485081088311_440305289_n.jpg"
The other will be started on soon, and will be for sale.
And in the wise of other personal projects:
This is another, smaller project I have started and is mostly a personal one. I am sculpting this little guy out of sculpy polyclay. Around last august, I became interested in the process of molding and casting. Most of you probably already know this, but I figured that with the cost of the world being the way it is, it is just not cost effective for me to sculpt one of a kind things to sell out of poly clay for the amount of time and detail I like to orient into to things, and as I have no kiln or throwing wheel of my own, can neither afford it, nor have the capacity in my tiny apartment, I have for a long while wanted to learn to make my own molds, so that, in time, I could recast and sell smaller, and maybe eventually larger pieces in an easier to manage quantity.
Unfortunately, with my health deteriorating, this was not looked into until recently. I am planning to use part of the return of my butterfly paintings, and some funds I set aside from a christmas present to fund a small kit, that will teach me how to make my own molds, and I plan for this lil guy to become the master of my first mold. He is not done yet however.
So I am hoping to in the future cast, paint and sell these. He is still not done, so does anyone have any critique or ideas for me?
Thanks for looking..

I would say it probably just needs more detail or scales over the body. The butterfly paintings are both nice in different ways. One idea to make money is to make prints of paintings to sell. You can usually make ore money selling prints than original paintings as each painting is so time consuming that people usually have to charge a lot for an original but less expensive prints would probably generate more money over time if you sold them on ebay or etsy.

January 16, 2014 at 8:15 am #907793In order to make prints you need to one have the money to get the prints. Preparing to make prints, involves carful photography, and proofing, neither of which I can afford, and I have no transportation to get to my print shop. I’ve looked into it for pastel works etc.
Also the dragon isn’t near done, i know he needs work. Those were progress shots

January 16, 2014 at 11:51 am #907796P.S. I know close to nothing about casting, so I’m not much help for feedback, but I was wondering if the cute little curl at the end of its tail might be hard to get out of a mold?
January 18, 2014 at 10:58 pm #907848The expression on the dragon’s face is so well captured! My dogs have that expression when they want a piece of bacon…

EDIT ^sorry about the above…
Anyways, I made a card for laundry2011, her birthday is the 26th. She is not on much, otherwise I wouldn’t post this. I also got her a glacier curlie.
EDIT 1/25/14
J ust a quick update of a couple of projects. My small butterfly work-in-progress and a very large canvas I am starting to paint, on my easel. Just kinda palying around with some ideas. Neither of these are done after an actual photo like the first butterfly was.
I am so weird, T am having a hard time adjusting to the new position of working upright. Has anyone else had this issue, or similar joint troubles when it comes to easels? I would love some tips.
The easel is probably just a bit too high, and I too tired to be sitting up with nothing to bear my weight on (such as a table edge) for that long. I think that may be it and I can’t stand, and cannot afford a table easel. This canvas is just too big to do on my table.
EDIT AGAIN
Opps wrong picture.
