I finished mama Pegasus already and also sweet baby laying and I also did … baby hatching Pegasus and she makes a complete family! Their muscles and curves help make Cedar Wood colors stand out great. I wanted to keep this male because he looks so majestic!

If you don’t mind a slightly different take here, I truly believe that the cedar wood coloring has complemented Melody’s beautiful sculpts in ways I have never seen before. There is detail on some of the sculpts – the mama unicorn for one – that I have never fully grasped (despite having three of them) until I saw the pics of the cedar wood mama unicorn on ebay. And for some reason that male pegasus has just never been one of my favorites, but in the cedar wood ….. stunning, just stunning. There are so many paint schemes that have been done for ebay that I just adore, from safari themes to pretty far out paint choices, but there is something about that cedar wood that just sings to me SO loudly. I only wish I could win/could have won …. every…..single…..one of them. Because I would happily have taken them ALL.
(sorry for being so sappy, but -in case you haven’t noticed – I LOVE that paint scheme) :love: :love: :love:After gushing over the cedar woods, I had to go back and look at them again and I saw that the papa and mama kirin appear to have gone to the same person. I hope whomever that is is a forum member. If so, PLEASE post a pic of them together.
I really think the matte look is really what is setting these beautiful cedar woods apart, it’s different than the usual gloss/satin that we usually see. I love it!

Not currently open for PYO commissions.Not usually a fan of brown, but goodness! Cedar Wood is just the perfect compliment to the sculpts. They show each and every detail so wonderfully, and they truly look like they were carved from a tree trunk.
Finding happiness again.
Most of the credit should go to Melody for letting us work with her wonderful pieces of art. Gina and I get to spread alot of sunshine. It is great fun for us. Also the brown on the Cedar Wood is not brown, it is a surprise different color that I created and I call it bricky brown. I enjoy working with that tone.

Melody does absolutely fantastic sculpts (and is an awesome painter too). It takes a lot of talent to bring them to life. Gina and Laurie are both awesome painters that seem to be able to do that no matter what sculpt they are painting. Great job!
I have to agree Cedar Wood is wonderful for bringing out the details in a way that is rare and beautiful. I don’t have room to collect unicorns as well, but if I did Cedar Wood is one that I would definitely be going for.Looking for:

I just love these Cedar painted sculpts too!! I never posted pics of a Young Uni repaint/portrait I did for my sister’s brown horse who passed away a few years ago. (Cuz forum rules!) But he came out stunning and made me appreciate the beautiful sculpt even more. I thought brown might be a little …..dull but with the dimension on the musculature it just is beautiful. 🙂 The Cedar paints take it to a whole new level!
