Gosh, I hope no one will be offended by my poll, but I keep being told by my friends that as I get older I’ll out grow my Windstones.
I say maybe in my weight but not in my love of WE! 😆 So now I’m curious to see the results of this poll.
I bought my first windstone when I was 16.
April 22, 2007 at 9:49 pm #565260I bought my first windstone (peacock fledgling) when I was 12! I had been admiring them for 3 years and found the money while snorkling at saint Thomas island! I am now 14!
April 22, 2007 at 10:05 pm #565261I’m very curious to know myself.
April 22, 2007 at 10:25 pm #565262I saw/bought my 1st Windstones when I was 18. It was in ’86.
I see there aren’t any over 60’s yet. My mother enjoys my dragons, and has started collecting (or having me get for her lol) some. She’s 65.
(having a parent like them is wonderful! I can get them for her for gifts, and I’ll get them back when she passes- guilt-free purchasing! and no, we get along and I hope she’s here for decades more)April 22, 2007 at 10:28 pm #565263I got my first Windstone as a birthday gift at 16, but my collection didn’t really start to boom until I was about 24-25 when I had disposable income for the first time in my life really. I’m 26 now, and will be 27 next month.
Edit: Oh, and it may be a bit late, but I think grouping the ages by teenage, young adult, etc would be more precise than by 10’s. Like Under 12, 13-17, 18-24, 25-?? and so on. I think 15-25 is a big leap, hehe ^^
April 22, 2007 at 10:50 pm #565264I got my first windstone, peacock hatching, when I was 15, I saw it and had to have it! It anything I find that my appreciation of them has grown. So many of my friends had crappy dragon statues and have gotten rid of them but still regard mine as art. I’m 30 now and intend to keep collecting.
April 22, 2007 at 11:10 pm #565265I am 21 and got my first windstone(s) this year..but i saw my first windstone when i was 14-15 and fell in love.
April 22, 2007 at 11:22 pm #565266I’m turning 34 this summer and I got my first Windstone while I was in university, in 92, I believe. I’m not growing out of it, quite the opposite, especially since joining this community!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmApril 23, 2007 at 1:02 am #565267I’ve been selling Windstones for three years, but didn’t start seriously collecting until last fall. I’m 41.
April 23, 2007 at 1:40 am #565268I don’t recall knowing about ’em when I lived overseas, so I’d have to say I fell in love with ’em in ’90… so I was 9. It took me a decade to get any though. I’m 26 now, so I’ve been actively collecting for 7 years & obsessed for 17. 😀
April 23, 2007 at 3:40 am #565269I bought my first one in 2003, but I only really started collecting when I found this forum last September and got hooked. I’m 19.
April 23, 2007 at 4:12 am #565270I saw my first one when I was 15, but I didn’t get one to own until I was 26, and bought my first one for myself at 27. I’m 28 now.
April 23, 2007 at 5:04 am #565271I saw, and bought, my first Windstone, the hatching pegasus, when I was 19 as a gift for my little sister. I bought a Gargolingus for myself soon after.
I’m in my mid twenties now. Although my collection is still small, I’ve acquired the majority of the pieces since I joined the forum last July.
April 23, 2007 at 5:26 am #565272Yeah, the forum definately seems to help with the aqusition of new pieces. Enablers!! 😆 😆 😆
