In the case of the sun conure… DONT.
Not unless you like screamers, which they are. Theyre one of the loudest conures and when I try to think of something louder, I only come up with lorikeets and cockatoos. Our neighbors across the street have a sun conure. I can hear it, from an acre away inside my own house. Some birds are predispositioned to being loud, and they are one of those birds.
Any bird can be a good bird if it’s a handfed baby though. Babies that were hand reared by people, look to them as their ‘flock’ and so are easier to train in the long run.
I have both a green cheek and a parrotlet, but I DO like and plan to get a bigger parrot at some point. Some of my favorites are yellow nape amazons, eclectus parrots, senegal macaws, severe macaws and lesser sulfer crested cockatoos.
Pictures of the new birdy! She’s doing just fine adjusting to her new surroundings(and I will never figure out why someone would want to give this bird up. She’s AWESOME).
I was shocked to get one I liked! Usually when I take a gb ‘class photo’ and circle or select the ones I like… The ones I end up getting arent even CLOSE. This is the first time that I ever got one that I listed as a fave. And he’s awesome! I didnt expect the dichroic eyes but they work so well with his colors!

He has dichroic eyes and his colors fade from red to orange to yellow to green to blue. He has a TON of sparkles too. I’m quite content with him and theres only one or two others that I would choose over him (siberakh has one, leigha has the other).
Due to space constraints, Ive become much pickier myself. Im not content to keep something in a box. I have to display it. I have about seven barrister bookcases chock full of windstones, and some very special pieces on my bedroom dresser. So recently I have not gone after something unless I REALLY love it. Blue Ice Emp? HAD to have it. ‘Burgundy Autumn Leaf’? Eh, the color didnt translate well from the male to the emp, so I didnt even try.
Also (since I heard someone needed new tires) I thought I’d edit this to say that I’d be happy to buy the Flame point Male Dragon.
I’m pretty sure thats a ‘cold dead fingers’ piece as far as she’s concerned. Lol.
Well my track record of grab bags from the factory isnt very good either. All the ones that I have that I love I got from trading or buying after the fact.
My tracking says mine should be here tomorrow….. Unfortunately I work 0630 to 2300 tomorrow so I wont see what I get until about midnight. Ugh.
Drag0n if I get one of those crazy ‘lacy/nettuce’ poads I’ll trade ya. I like the blue on black ones.
Ask someone to borrow an Emperor box, its NOT worth getting an old brown broken. Theyre near impossible to ship without the box. That tail isnt meant for it. My emerald is broken because of it.
I wouldnt ‘believe’ that they know how to pack it to ship. The glaring reason is they didnt know what it was worth to collectors in the first place.
