Oh and Wocelof, I think Parhelion’s eyes are metallic pink. We used to have Copernicus and his eyes were pink too. I think there are two or three pink eyed unicorns floating around from the fantasy batch. So that’s a rare eye color! The four ‘rare’ eye colors seem to be metallic pink, metallic green, silver and dark (poad) blue. For example, Eidolon has silver. Tain and Tesla have metallic green. Narwhal has dark blue, and at least Parhelion and Copernicus have pink!
Edit: Red and orange aren’t common eye colors either. Forgot about those. Absinthe has orange.
The only thing keeping me from bidding on the mare is that she’s metallic and my male is not. I have a male, young, baby set that needs a mother. But she needs to match the OTHER palomino male that sold over the summer. And he has BROWN eyes. (pic is huge, more babbling after the pic)
I’ve always said that maybe all of the normal color ebay unicorns should have a brown eye/blue eye choice. I understand one like Hades not having a choice, but any of the dun, palomino, appaloosa, pinto ETC colors can look good both ways. But if you have a set to finish, like I do, it would be MUCH better if we had an eye color choice(and with so many GB babies and youngs out there that want parents, there would be no shortage of bidders if they had an eye choice).
I have a lot and Im still not sick of them. Not even close.

I finally took pics of my huge grab bag unicorn collection. Most of these were acquired second hand. Some for trades, some for money. The young unicorn sculpt is my favorite uni sculpt along with the male. Baby second. Mom third.

Maybe this should be a sticky so that people can put P.S. requests in here. And I second your thought on more Hades things. I’d love to see more unicorns myself.
That kind of pattern is worthy of an Ebay male unicorn, grand unicorn or male pegasus. I think it would be stunning on one of the upright sculpts. Not sure what to CALL that pattern/color though, since it seems to be two or three different things.
So far I think it’s been a different person every time. I’m getting the male. I think dragonshoard has the mother. Dont know who got the baby.
I hate the 10 days thing. It should be less. 5 at most even.
And the ‘wait for someone to help’ thing isnt reasonable if you need to sell something for funds now. The economy isnt exactly kind at the moment. And if someone is selling for a reason(lost job, rent, etc) and suddenly cant update their thread, they should be able to make another one. The forums glitchiness isnt their fault. So they shouldnt have to wait on a mod to fix it when im sure a mod has bigger issues to handle.
This is my argument for subforums, there would be less of a need for the busted search function if the main four(dragon, hoofer, griffin, cat) were separated plus a misc forum. A unicorn collector wouldnt have to wade through everything else to get what they want and vice versa. Someone hunting for a GB uni would have their own forum(hoofer) or a GB poad(misc) would have a specific section to do so. Someone who wanted a griffin wouldnt be slogging through a dozens of threads that have everything but griffins in them.
And another additional suggestion: Having a requirement that a person must have 25 forums posts outside the marketplace before they are allowed to post in it. This gives a newbie more time to actually read rules and would prevent a lot of ancient thread bumping. Not sure how to implement this except to block new members from being able to post in there until they reach the proper post count.
John if each item had its own post then i could take up the entire front page all by myself. Some of us dont sell one item at a time and it would be far too much of a clusterf*** for us to split threads like that. I think craigslist is a chaotic cesspool and the marketplace shouldnt be modeled off it.
My opinion is this, if we cut out the ‘good lucks’ and “i wish i had money for this’ kind of babble then most of the problem would be solved. But thats a matter of someone self governing themselves on what they post and it shouldnt be a mod issue.
A thought though: flea market subforums: dragons, hoofers, griffins, cats and misc.
Melody I think these are the colors most squeaked for in hatchng royalty:
Silver(all)
Copper patina(especially emperor and kinglet)
Amethyst (especially emperor)
Old Brown (all)And a lot of people squeak for rainbow despite its retirement. Maybe you could do a limited release of them since the rainbow hatchers are rare to begin with?
My problem is, what happens when the forum suddenly isnt letting you update your old thread? Its still current and has current items, but you want to add new, but cant edit the original post? I wont add items in a new ‘reply’ in that post, I would prefer to just make a new thread. Its happened to me a couple times since the forum move. I bump my threads at best twice a month because I forget to honestly.
And Im at the point where I would rather separate my OOAK/Ebay/Grab Bag items for sale from my normal production in separate threads. It would look a LOT less cluttered if I did given the sheer amount I can list.
The ‘norm’ Ive seen on other forums is allowing a bump every 5 days. I dont think bumping should be banned. Thats stupid.
