Eee! I remember the SK fight, yes.
See, I don’t take funny pics as much as tell stories with pics. I’ll start with my Secret Keeper story, and (if I can find it) I’ll post my Gold Wine story. π
Mr. Gold Wine Griffin looked enviously at the other griffins on the shelf. He and his friend Prairie Falcon Griffin were the two solitary bachelors in the flock. Day after day, he would see scenes of gryphonic domestic bliss, and let out a lonely sigh.
Then one day an egg appeared on his shelf. Could it be? Could Gold Wine have a chick to coddle and feed and impart his wisdom to? He protected the egg, warming it in hopes to have a youngling of his very own.
Then it hatched.
“Aaaa… you’re NOT a griffin!”
“No I’m not,” replied the little Copper Gold Empress hatching, “but I still need a protector.”
“Uh-uh,” said Gold Wine, “you’ll singe my feathers.”So the little Copper Gold Empress took a deep dragon breath and meeeeeeeeped for a protector of her very own.
Gold Wine Griffin took one look at the size of the descending shadow, and fled back to his lonely bachelor pad as fast as his wings could flap…. the little Hatchling following him all the way.
“Hey, I like this place,” commented the newly arrived Cinnamon Gold Secret Keeper. “I think I’ll stay.” She pretended not to hear the strangled protest from the griffin shelves.

Oh, I agree completely, drgnlvr!
Let this first meeting of WAH! (Windstone Auction Hopes-denied!) come to order!
NicoleH, which griffin were you looking at? …cause I won one recently. >.>
As for the Lap Dragon, I bid up and was highest bidder in the last 12 seconds. I was on the phone at the time. I was about to go one more increment, but got a hint of cold feet. At literally the LAST second (you can check the bidding records on this!) my bid was one-upped. Someone either had very incredible tming, or a bidding program. The GOOD news is, I didn’t spend that money, and I told my friend on the phone the same.
…the bad news is, I’m STILL kicking myself over losing that piece. I think Pam mentioned there’s one more Sunrise Lap left? I hope so.
Again, congrats to whoever won! There’s no hard feelings, just a bit of regret on my part for not being more aggressive. π I need my chocolate now.

Got sniped literally at the VERY LAST SECOND!
I hope whoever won her keeps me in mind if they ever want to re-sell! π

Ohno! What happened to her?

Thanks!
But are there any left? *ponders*

I saw that new Lap Dragon on eBay, and I was wondering 1) how it compares to other color schemes (like especially the Cinnamon Gold SK) and 2) whether or not there are any more Sunrise Lap Dragons left? The Ravnheart database lists only 20 so far… including #21 so I’m confused.

June 2, 2010 at 12:11 pm in reply to: PYO Phoenix! How Many Do You Want For The First Batch? #816699Considering I’d probably buy just one, I’d still be willing to wait until there are a LOT. (And I really think the first batch, no matter the size, should be one per customer to give everyone at least a chance at catching them online).

Wowza! That gorgeous Phoenix prototype auction got really exciting at the end. Congrats whoever snagged him, he’s a beauty!
(I admit, I did try, but it got waaaay too rich for me.)
