Wow, the griffin chicks have been going cheap, but the SK sure sold well.
*chuckles* “Cheap” is a relative term, if you figure they’re going for almost four times as much as a production piece. For a SK to go proportionally, they would have to be bid up to nearly $3400 each. Besides, I LIKE it when there are gorgeous dragons and cats and Poads on eBay… takes focus off the griffins.
…or so I can hope. π π

D’oh!
And as for the “new member winning” thing, I was mostly just voicing my frustrations. It shouldn’t be that difficult to at least say hello. *shrugs*

I’ve noticed that, too. Maybe we can ask for people to have at least ONE post (like an introduction, maybe) before entering a raffle. Just an idea, you can flame me later, I suppose.

They’ve done this before. They say the item is “detailed like Windstone” but it is not at all. It doesn’t look like a Windstone, and the detail is much, much less. It’s keyword spamming to try and get the item to show up in more searches.

Keyword spamming? In the description, they say it’s not a Windstone (but ‘very similair to the Windstone hatching peacock dragon’). The title makes it sound like a Windstone though. The egg particularly reminds me of Melody’s eggs in the way it’s cracking, though it makes my head hurt and run to think of how 3 babies are supposed to fit into a single egg.Not to mention that the wing and foreclaw of the hatching dragon reaaally looks like one of the Windstone Hatchers (Empress, maybe?). This auction needs to be corrected or pulled.

August 18, 2009 at 12:25 pm in reply to: Windstones' new eBay auctions thread Aug 27 page 64 #756859The colors on that Poad are pretty nice, but I think the green eyes just don’t… go. (and I LOVE green eyes) Maybe if she had dark blue or orange? (or grey) eyes, but the green just isn’t doing it for me.

Jennifer wrote:Finished Windstones seem to fair well enough in the humidity. A word of warning– many collectors HAVE had problems storing their Windstones in hot/humid conditions. The sealer becomes ‘soft’ and picks up the texture of the plastic bag they are stored in (making the surface look ‘wrinkly’). Worse yet is if they are stored in something like tissue paper. It can stick right to them! Use care and discretion when storing Windstones if there is no climate control.
That said, it’s in your best interest for the long term to display your Windstones where they receive as little humidity as possible. For example, it’s probably not a good idea to display them in your bathroom if there are frequent steamy showers, or in your private sweat lodge out back, etc… π
Temporary summer humidity should be fine. π
Oh drat, and I had this *perfect* shelf in the shower stall, too. π

I know they are having problems in the factory with the Gypsum. I hope this becomes a production but like the auction said it will not look like this one with all the detail. She also hints at the fact their is a silver one that I think to believe isnt the raffle prize for this month. So I hope I can have a chance at that one π
Congrats on whoever won! He is a amazing! I actually went out with the girls to night so I didnt have to think about it lol.I followed your link, GL, and she did say: “…and just this one brown Bengal so far. I plan to do more of them.” So there will be more; it’s just a matter of time. Works for me (and you, too)! :0)
