A lot of dapple greys are that color because there aren’t really that many truly black horses out there. Most people would probably call her a dappled rose grey, though. I think she’s beautiful.
Those facial markings are striking. Very pretty little chick.
Assuming the candlelamps each count as one, I have 27 and a half-painted PYO. I’d have more if I hadn’t missed everything this last week!
I’m sorry to hear about Titan. Bloat is nasty because a lot of times it comes out of nowhere. *Zen hugs*
(100 pounds lean weight? Yikes! My 90# lean one is quite large enough!)
Robert’s a good name; my Dad and brother are Roberts.
My first name is 121 (or 58 if you stick an ‘h’ on the end), but the name I go by looks like it’s been in the 200s-300s all my life. Most people think my favorite Dr. Who assistant was Sarah Jane because she has the same name as I do (but there’s that ‘h’ again). I wonder if the names were more popular in England around that time, since her run in the program started when I was 2.
The problem I have with a lot ofthe adult Bengal griffs is that the spots on the rear are just too big. Aside from the clouded leopard, most ‘big’ spotted cats have relatively small markings compared to their body size, so these just look wrong to me. (Also that sort of spotting doesn’t look right to me on feathers, although this one hasn’t got that problem.) But the feathered portions of that guy are just gorgeous – more like the front but with different rears, please!
But I’d better grab a handkerchief – or a bib! – for that Poad and the rest of that post! Especially since I keep missing the (non-bat) things in the store.
Me too, and I checked several times yesterday. Not sure why, since I can’t buy one at work even if they WERE available, but I looked. And it always said sold out. Sigh #2.

Ditto. I thought he was the best of the bunch!
Well, if it potentially means more than one person can get ‘him’, then so much the better, no? He’s a stunning piece. Of course so were they all.
They’re gorgeous! I want I want I want. I keep missing (almost) all the good stuff!
(Wouldn’t want Dracul to think I don’t consider him good stuff! 😉 )
I actually WAS on the store earlier, to show someone at work what a ‘griffin’ was . . and neither the flap cats nor the curlies were there. But when I get home? I think they were just put straight up there as ‘sold out’ to mess with us. 😀
Guess I’d better start lurking. Maybe it’s a good thing the plant’s pulling so many late nights – the OT will come in handy.
I don’t have one, but I can say that in dun horses, the outer hairs of the mane and tail often are non-black. Norwegian Fjords (http://www.nfhr.com/catalog/index.php?colors=1) are a good example, as the manes are trimmed to emphasize the central, dark stripe. Notice the outer hairs on the tails are also light. Other duns have the entire mane an tail black (or red, in the case of red duns), with few or no lighter hairs.
With unicorns and pegasi, who knows?
I missed them, so I’ll have to join the lurkers. I’ll put in a second suggestion for dark beards though, especially as most grullos have dark faces anyway. I always find myself doing unicorn beards to match the manes and tails, it just feels more finished to me.
I couldn’t believe the quote in our paper today – I sincerely hope it wasn’t correctly quoted, but I’m afraid it was. “The Gulf of Mexico leak is a ‘combination of all the bad things happening’ and makes it far worse than any disaster imagined in the drills”. 😮 I thought the whole POINT of emergency drills was to assume the worst possible circumstances!
Just ordered mine. I always find it amazing how something so innocuous-looking – and small! – can be the instigator of such horrific tales. But then, bats in general have a pretty hard rap to start with. At least this one will be suitably admired.
I think you mean ‘sphere’. I’ve never seen a dragon holding a spear. Knights, yes, to attack the dragons; dragons, no.
